Now that it seems we've calmed down, can someone explain in detail what happened to this board since Splatfest started? I keep seeing this IRC but we don't have an IRC.

Just some bullshit that's been going for a few days now. One autist from /nintyg/, 'babt' as they call him, claims he wants /ink/ to be taken down because we "Post too much art", even though this concerns him in no way, thus he's been spamming the Catalog with threads and branching shitposts onto other Generals and even other wesbites to rally hate against us. Not much of that has worked. He can't be banned since he seems to have countless IP Addresses, so we've just toughed it out for now. Chances are he's just asleep right now, he'll probably try something later.

Of course, because the results of two anons determines the outcome of the entire worldwide competition.

After all this fucking brilliant art we got, I don't really mind if Callie loses or not.

What if octolings (now inklings) were the main characters of Splatoon and the inklings (now squidlings) were the ones banished to squid valley? Octos have "hair" that can be any color and squidlings would be stuck with white. Would /ink/ still hate octos and love squidlings?

Which one is more popular? Typically I assume that the less popular team will win because trying to gauge win/losses is so hard based on word of mouth.

I don't know if it's the Japs but I had consistently good teams this splatfest.

I seemed to be doing alright as well with wins on Fancy Dress but every now and then had some shockers.

But I'm only like Level 12 now so...

Popularity isn't as big of a factor anymore with the "power" changes. Low levels are matched with low levels and high levels are matched with high levels which means everyone has a chance to win and contribute to their team instead of holding a team back or causing a steamroll. Popular teams can actually win now because being matched with children isn't an issue. Europe's hoverboards won immediately after the change despite being the most popular.

I'm aware but that system has been in place for the last few Splatfests, and it still seems to make very little difference because of the x6 multiplier. If the less popular team has had the better players, as has been the trend, then it'll make no difference. I do appreciate not really having as many blow outs, but I still had several where we ended up completely destroying the other team

Why are you even in this general if you don't have the game? Do you just post pictures of Callie and Marie all day?
