There's no incentive to leave casual casual. Players that won't put the time into climbing ladder beyond 20 every month get the same rewards for playing top decks there as they do on ladder and it's easier.

This has probably already been discussed, but is it legit a good idea to build a deck around him entirely or is he a noobtrap?

That's the issue, I'm stuck at rank 10 playing tempo mage. I keep getting here, falling back to 11 and just going up and down for hours.

C'thun cards are of pretty good quality, so you can curve and hold tempo well in the midgame. It's fine to have C'thun be your main endgame threat if you have the support and draw to make it to him and close the game.

That said, C'thun decks aren't exactly tier 1 right now anyways. C'thun Druid's death curve is the strongest C'thun deck right now, but that's not a meta-defining deck at all.

Fatigue control isn't patrician, but threat-heavy control and combo control is maximum patrician.
Miracle/OTK decks are also patrician.
Aggro has some respect to it.
Midrange is plebian.

It's not even that bad of a deck honestly. I just end up drawing bad a lot of the time. Or having to use all of my burn as removal and running out of steam.
