Why am I super unicum consistently in the covenanter, but suddenly doing fucking nothing valuable in the crusader? Every covie game, I managed to stay alive most of the game farming bits of damage and killshots, then bullying arty (except the games I got 1-shot by arty a minute in), but in the crusader I feel like I'm being spotted from a mile away, and am 10 times the priority target I ever was in the covie.
Somebody pls carry me.

The more I play the more I dislike big derp guns. There is no real way to balance them because the problem is anyone can simply drive right up to someone, click once, get obliterated for pushing too hard and making a dumb play, but still walk away with another player losing so much of their health. They only work with the assumption that teammates actually care about each other and someone will make a coordinated move to sacrifice themselves to get a shot in, but in reality it's just a shitter doing a ton of undeserved damage to another player then dying and being a waste to their team.

What are you talking about? They lower tiers are great fun. I've been playing the game for over 2 years now, and I have 17 tanks in tiers III-VII and only 3 VIII+.
Tier VIII+ is too much of a grind and a serious drain on silver for a non-premium player such as myself.

The weekly skirmishes can give you up to 1k per day mon-wed, and then more based on your payoff ranking plus some premium time. Realistically the Veeky Forums tournament teams only make like 2-5k per week on average though. Which is fine since I'm already at the point where I have nothing to do with more gold. I just play in the tournaments because it's better than pubbing.
