Most people rushed a QS3 at release, so they hit rank 7, had some fun and realized single target damage is ass in this game, even if you have the best auto attack possible that's borderline exploiting for how strong it is, it's shit unless you have a linker constantly linker, and prettty much anyone becomes good with a linker anyways.

People are leaning more towards wugu and the forever OP mementalist nowadays, or at the very least fletcher but that's very expensive to fund and level in attributes.
