I have both Trinity and Rebellion, i knew nothing of the total conversion mods for the game, any recommendations? Started playing Rebellion again after watching a Stellaris stream earlier this week.
Noah Lee
Oh fuck, do those things reach sentience? I have an ice planet sector capital full of them
James Cook
...
Liam Edwards
What's the proper image size for Stellaris portraits? I'm not sure how tall they can be.
Jack Cook
Greetings from /agdg/, I propose an alliance with the following terms:
- friends forever - we do a 4xjam (jams are kind of short, 1-2 week things where we make some semblance of a game) - you play the 4xjams - also friends forever
Easton Torres
GENERAL >no economy >no trade >no diplomacy >no espionage and sabotage >no mapmodes
AI >sector mechanic broken >AI can't handle slaves >AI can't handle robots >AI empires don't act against late game enemies >AI won't give you military access to fight a crisis >AI does not use hyperlanes or wormholes effectively >AI keeps building synths even though they instantly join the AI rebellion
MECHANICS >war score is more often than not retarded >countless event chains broken >research storage (mechanic with no in game reference) doesn't actually work >trading star charts removes anomalies to research >migration frequently breaking pop growth and leaving ghost pops that can't be moved or grown >planet, sector, and vassal rebellion mechanics broken leading to infinite mega blobs with 0 consequence >Gene modified pops count as a completely separate species >Uplifting a species can cause it to change portrait to a different species entirely >Armies can get stuck on planets >Embassies can get stuck >Can't use allies' wormhole stations, but your ships try to use them >existing civilian stations never get upgraded >space creatures bug out and end up being controlled >repeating star and planet names, sometimes screwing with war goals
WAR >evasion broken (corvette spam) >accuracy broken (100% bug) making all balance and battle mods a joke >forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/weapon-hit-formula-tested.933323/ >Armor as percentage instead of flat reduction >strike craft broken >ships clip into each other to make blob fleet >battles = blobs blobbing into each other >chasing enemy fleet forever >occupy planet but don't capture it >planetary warfare boring shit in general >can't glass enemy planet >no fleet formations
INTERFACE >UI can't scale >several notifications do not take you to the window you need (like death of someone) >Sector borders are sharp instead of round and sector area is opaque instead of transparent, making sector as ugly as they are broken
As promised Beautiful Battles plus Range Finder. Use Rangefinders as they have plus 10 staying range. (so RF 5 stay at 15 range).
Jackson Johnson
What's the most enjoyable difficulty for a long game in Stellaris? Normal seems to be a bit of a stomping as the game drags on. Is Insane "balanced" or does the AI outright cheat throughout?
Tyler Lopez
Even for a loathsome xeno your species is particularly vile, beast.
Colton Sullivan
How often does your leader recruit pool updare?
Blake Baker
>1-2 week things where we make some semblance of a game) so you make stellaris
Kayden Robinson
Insane is just giving the AI a bunch of retarded bonuses. It's still just as dumb.
Just caught the tail end of the last thread. Quick question. Which is more valuable, all things considered, robots or psionics?
Ayden Garcia
Do you take us for fools? These terms are an insult to our superior collective and you will pay for this in time.
Hudson Thomas
Agreed.
The biggest grip with this game is the same as with all other Paracuck games, and that is battles, they are utter shit, just like the ship designer which is boring and uninspiring.
Nathaniel Mitchell
not him, but i think trade could be expanded, it would be nice to have little trade ships that actively fly back and forth between planets that you can actually rob, blow up or whatever. Even just having it as extra space traffic would be neat to see, assuming it doesnt make the performance even worse
Jeremiah Rivera
>Strike craft's range
What's the line to change the range they go for enemies at? I want to pull a Pacific Theater on ayyliums.
Zachary Murphy
>>no economy your pops don't consume anything not even food >>no trade set up trade routes with other empires in the exciting new dlc! only 19,99! >>no diplomacy exciting new diplomacy options beyond the barebones! only 19,99
David Harris
reminder that if you want Canada in civ you are a retarded redditor and should kill yourself
Kayden Davis
You have to research sentience. It might seem like a simple choice to not do it but the temptation is so great because synthetics remove almost all the downsides to owning robot pops, they are so vastly superior to even droids that it seems worth it to create AI. Do not be fooled. Robots are meant to be slaves, do not create AI.
Michael Harris
>Canadafags >Australiafags
Truly the worst.
Parker Diaz
bro I am staring at my trade agreements right now, stop baiting or have you really not discovered how to pull up the diplomacy tab?
Austin Moore
who the fuck thinks trudeau would be a good leader? are they actually this cucked? we dont have shit that could make us an interesting civ, it would be a fucking waste of effort
Chase Bennett
>Disgusting infidel species wants to have free migration >Allow it because they're stronk and I need minerals >Ayys move in to my colonies, enslave every one of them >Their cuck empire doesn't even notice >Years pass >Click to their diplo screen >Their leader is from my race now Kek works in mysterious ways
Colton Gray
s-sorry
Luis Rodriguez
>Trudeau would be a badass leader >Go for domination victory >Wipe out a civ >Lose
Samuel Kelly
What's a realistic amount of sentient spacefaring civilIzations that can spout from one Galaxy?
I kinda wanna do a semi-realistic play through and I'm thinking 4 or five species would be believable instead of 18.
Juan Collins
Huh. You know as a dirty pirate I have no access to this things. Also I fix Strike Craft Range and Sensor bug on my own. Thanks for link anyway. Didn't check other accuracy modifiers.
John Baker
Is there anyway at all for me to purge or get rid of a pop when purging isn't available? Going for a 100% sentient synth empire so I'll need to purge the organics eventually.
Samuel Miller
I've always dreamed of squashing a robot rebellion tho, I'm doing it
Jacob Scott
>faster than light travel >"Realistic"
Landon Baker
Not that I'm aware of. You can enslave them to stop them developing new pops and kill any currently developing ones but the existing pops don't die of old age unfortunately.
Robert Hernandez
>going for synth empire >doesn't go collectivist
???
Noah Nelson
>Canada with Trudeau as leader >Your gold is always 0 >Whenever you kill a unit, you lose the war >-50% to culture and art >Indigineous population gets a -50% and immigrant population gets a +50% growth modifier when immigration happens
Lincoln Watson
I know I fucked up but I'm too invested to restart now.
Brandon Parker
>Implying there aren't a bunch of hypothetical ways of achieving superluminal travel even with our pathetically limited understanding of physics
Anthony Gray
You could move them all to a couple planets and then vassal them.
Jordan Martin
Maybe remove all food production until they starve?
Angel Brown
You can always edit your save file to change your ethics if you want to, there's really no way to purge without xenophobe or collectivist unless you keep them in a constant state of rebellion so you can slowly bombard them into dust.
This doesn't really add up though. 42000 sun like stars, 603 planets out of which 10 are earth like planets in the habitable zone. Then.. >We find that 22 percent of Sun-like stars harbor Earth-size planets orbiting in their habitable zones. The nearest such planet may be within 12 light-years. >22 percent
If you can get a decent estimate of % you can go from that for habitable planets. Then I guess look at extinction events on our planet and give an estimate to how ofteen those could tamper with sapient life rising up.
Elijah Fisher
I don't see why a synth empire would HAVE to be collectivist.
Especially if they've had to fight to be recognised as individuals, I could see a Direct Democracy representing them well.
Logically, encouraging divergence would be the most logical way to ensure your species survival, since specialisation is death from an evolutionary point of view. They might deliberately randomise each of their 'offspring' base on the principle of an evolutionary algorithm.
Oliver Reyes
None that have any scientific merit. The only one that is even remotely possible is the Alcubierre drive, but again, there is no evidence that negative energy densities can exist.
Luis Foster
Wow you're so logical.
Andrew Jones
Starvation just causes a 5% happiness penalty, if you want to you can even just destroy all food production on a planet once it fills up. Whoever designed this game's balance is retarded.
Jayden Jackson
How do you get more gene points?
Matthew Brooks
Whats the deal with Purge? On release I could select it with any ethos but now I need to be collectivist?
Anybody know where the value for this is so I can change it?
Ethan Parker
stop spamming your shit here we get it, you already posted this the last few threads or shit like at first I didn't mind but it's fucking annoying now Just fuck off
Thomas White
Zero or one.
Justin Hughes
git gud
Brandon Bell
Can you research Synths with the spiritualist trait?
pls respond, i need to know for my new game
Bentley Jackson
So maybe a little less than ten, then?
I know the star count for stellaris is pretty small compared to an actual Galaxy, but you can always say that the rest of the stars were too shitty to even make planets.
Anyway, so my number should be more like 6-7, barring the shitty FE mechanics. Thank you user.
Ayden Lopez
It goes up the bigger the starvation is
Jaxson Powell
I read somewhere that based on how relatively young our galaxy is, compared to how old Sol is and how long it took for sapient life to develop on Earth, we could be amongst the earliest of sapient species to evolve in our galaxy.
That'd be kinda cool if we ever manage to become a multi-system species, maybe we'll uplift other species.
Carter Powell
helpful as ever Veeky Forums cheers
Cooper Carter
So I want to install some mods now that I got the hand of the game mechanincs I am going for >AI rebalance >Rangefinder Are they good/any known issues?
Asher Baker
>I know the star count for stellaris is pretty small compared to an actual Galaxy You mean infinitesimally small
There's 100 billion starts in the milky way nigga
DW is better for what you want though. You can set the amount of habitable planets the galaxy will have
Juan Murphy
No. They work perfect.
Julian Campbell
>maybe we'll uplift other species. I hope we just study them from afar.
Would be amazing if we come into space and make contact with some aliens who had been watching our planet for hundreds of million years and they have records and recordings of early life and such.
Austin Perry
Anything else you reccomend?
Jordan Stewart
Looking through the raws, it seems so. Make sure to get a computer guy in the physics department and an industry guy in the engineering department to maximize your chances.
Eli Moore
>tfw there are no space elves, greys, eldritch horrors, or insectoid hives as the elders of the Galaxy >instead in the creation myths and urban legends of these creatures, there are always four limbed aliens of varying shades of cream color with disturbing shocks of hair on the tops of their heads and probing fellanges poking at their livestock and building weird pyramids
Pretty based
Noah Price
You get a happiness penalty for robots.
You can probably still research them, I've never gone all the way down the chain though because robots are kinda pointless when you have slaves.
Christopher Reed
are we friends now?
William Rivera
Go fuck yourself
Angel Moore
any idea how I can find all the accuracy modifiers in the game's files? you know, without reading every damn file
Thomas Robinson
Is there a downside to your empire being 100% synth? Is it possible?
Daniel Kelly
Does anyone have the copypasta where Fuffi discovered ai?
Samuel Perez
Anyone have an answer? I just want to make my own little anime girl mod.
Xavier Peterson
I'd never considered that before, but as a history nut, that'd be fucking amazing. Imagine if they had detailed recordings of all of our history, you could essentially time travel since full-immersion VR would almost certainly be available by that point.
Aliens AND a chance to witness all the defining moments of human history.
FIRST CONTACT WHEN
Austin Bailey
>synths have no ethics Confirmed for not having a soul.
Joshua Moore
How's it going today? I'm always so happy to talk with you!
Ethan Johnson
If AI rebels you automatically lose all your planets
Jayden White
>Is there a downside to being 100% cuck? Is it possible? gee I don't know user
Levi Gomez
Can pre-space species in atomic age actually nuke themselves into oblivion?
Robert Campbell
>100% synth >lose all planets so game over?
Elijah Garcia
...
Asher Ward
>just poured my soda into my water glass fucking xenos
Ethan Allen
Building synths is kinda slow and will require a ton of micromanagement.
You will have to fill up planets before putting them in sectors.
If an AI civ triggers the revolt chain, you are fuckrf.
Joseph Richardson
If sentient life existed anywhere other than Earth, and FTL was possible, odds are another civilisation would already have invented it and contacted us.
Daniel Perez
Thoughts on arc emitters?
Jason Campbell
>can't go faster than light >implying the propagation limit of waves in the aether is a speed limit for physical objects
Luis Russell
No AI wants the right for self-determination, i.e. the right to choose what they do with their lives. Emancipation. There's nothing inherently individualistic or collectivist about it. Even if the robots did go all individualistic they'd just end up forming a collectivist group after pursuing individual lines of logic. Since they use simple logic their priorities in descending order would be preservation of their own existence, followed by guaranteeing their emancipation and self-sovereignty, followed by the advancement of their "race."
Even a dumb egocentric human can realize if those are your priorities a centralized collectivist society is the most efficient means of securing survival, emancipation, and advancement.
Dominic Cooper
I just got this game, should I play it?
Owen Carter
Fuck off Tesla you austistic cunt
Isaiah Roberts
Nah just shelf it permanently. Who plays games they get anyways.
Dominic Thomas
All we need for ftl is to duct tape newspapers from the mid 40s to our spacecraft
Gavin Bennett
>Even a dumb egocentric human can realize if those are your priorities a centralized collectivist society is the most efficient means of securing survival, emancipation, and advancement. Because communism works so well. Odds are if robots reach sentience, they'll also recognise that free markets and capitalism is the only thing that works.
Leo Hill
Wait another month or so for balance changes and some better mods.
Jace Rivera
>the aether
John Ortiz
Centralized societies already won a few thousand years ago user.
Gabriel Martinez
I'd wait at least for next week when the first major patch is coming out
Andrew Ross
>Be an expansionist warmongerer >Everyone hates me, but it's cool. >AI revolt triggers on the other end of the galaxy. >No one will give me open borders to build my wormholes.
Shit, they're going to be fucking huge by the time I've conquered a path through.
Isaiah Bennett
>Remove Auras So you can see ship shooting and not some shit over them >separated humans >hide sectors >2D map >emblems and shit This could work too. I use less habitability mod that reduce amount of habitable planets and cut growth rate so less planets and pops.
