They tweaked the difficulties for Warhammer to make it more beginner friendly so if you're here for that then you should be good.

Atilla w/ Charlemagne expansion for me is possibly the best modern introduction as the unit composition of every army is extremely simple, only complicated things are on the campaign map if you don't mind taking a bit of time to get to grips with some things.

Medieval 2 is definitely the least complicated campaign, pretty easy to jump into even with zero experience, and is frankly extremely simplistic and dumb to go back to after playing the other campaigns
