Elementalist would have been a better class if the player could only be attuned to 2 elements at a time. Then again, nothing in this game is particularly good.

i feel like trying to combine elements would be a bit too much, honestly

They already get locked down into ranged/melee by what weapon they take, something that doesn't happen with a certain other class who can't take a swap But totally does because there is zero reason to NOT run a kit or a dozen, especially as increasing numbers of non-kit options get nerfed.

The simpler combat is, the more that players have to stretch imaginations to accomplish amazing things. There is a reason why Quake is considered one of the best games ever made and still played to this day. GW2 is over-complication incarnate.
