Has anyone tried Better Combat Evolved 2.0 with Hearts of stone in Death March?

Since HoS makes the game harder, while BCE does the same thing does it break the game?

It is but the mod uses custom images for all regents in the North without any of the elements from the game's own portraits to make new random ones so it breaks.

The broken portraits means you won't be able to interact with anyone after even as much as accidentally selecting a region belonging to someone without a portraits.

How do armor upgrades work in this?

Can I slap on leather/maile, etc onto my armor like in two, or is it just the few sets that have a T2 and T3 upgrade, with everything else just socketing rune?

Cool, I guess. I really like slaping armor upgrades onto armor to see the visual effects, even if it was all samey, but at least I can stop worrying over upgrading everything.

Just started the game.

Often I seem to stagger my enemies like wolves and can just keep attacking but sometimes it seems that doesn't work and they just attack at the same time. What's up with that? Is that random? Can I avoid getting hit during such an attack?

So I just arrived in Velen, where am I supposed to do side quests and the big question marks first?
Monster level seems to be all over the place.

Turn off the question marks on the map
Go towards your main quest and do the level appropriate side quests that pop up along the way

I always have to go around all of velen and pick the quests up to make sure i don't miss them

HoS levels are for after you beat the game, and BaW levels are for after you beat HoS presumably

You'll be able to access both of them through the DLC playthrough in the main menu anyways

you're almost done, the viper armour is better than the Ofieri I believe, Swords depends on the ending you choose.
