It's pretty ok now that it's been buffed a little.

It has E/B scaling in STR/INT now, so just get base reqs for STR and DEX and then pump your INT. 40 is the point of diminishing returns for weapons, but spells keep getting stronger until 60 INT.

Yes. I'm playing a level 65 Warrior Starter for it (strangely the best starter class if you want low level MLGS) because you come off with the lowest soul level possible. 40 int, 20 End, 30 Vig, base str and 11 dex. Invading in Dungeon. It's pretty damn powerful now. Especially with Crutch Ring and Dusk Crown.

As for armour, I keep switching. I can't find anything as sexy as Executioner.

It's pretty normal. The key to the bosses in the Souls games is just memorizing their patterns. If you are exposed to them enough you learn their moves and the tells for them.

Grinding isn't hard, I mean my build's sellsword winblades/CMW cut through the knights like butter even in NG+ but it's not much fun
