I prefer Gen 4 myself. Added cool new stuff and still had most of the great old stuff.
Plus I really loved walking around with my Pokémon in Heartgold, it made me feel really connected to them.

I usually evaluate Pokémon games by the features rather than the Pokémon within, because I inevitably transfer all my old Pokémon over to the new game

I love so many of the pokemon that were introduced in Gen 3 including my personal favorite Flygon. Its a shame that its right before the physical split stuff and that the remake apparently sucked so hard
