A good mech game needs to be a video game first, and should be light on the story and emotions. Thoughts on this? Do you agree?

I'm sure exceptions exist and that story heavy mech games CAN be good, but emotions and crying and feelings and typical garbage you find in anime just can't compare to a fun, simple game that lets you have fun mechs and blow up stuff.

Mechwarrior 3 is extremely story driven, but doesn't sacrifice gameplay, graphics, music, voice acting, or anything.

There's no reason you have to pick. Just demand a good game like the fucking olden days.

That was a fantastic mix of feelings and planes. if you changed it from planes to mechs i think that kind of story telling would work amazingly well.

Like I said, exceptions can exist. But I've suffered through enough sony exclusives and pretentious indie games to kind of have a distaste for story in games. You know? Let alone mech games, which are rare already this gen.

LRMs are honestly bad weapons, all dude not memes and 1k+ dmg scorevoards aside. They spread damage all over so you get padded stats. They have low velocity and require locks to fire. Artemis definitely helps here with lock times and missile spread.

It's a good idea to bring TAG as a LRM boat, but I personally don't. Additionally, it's a good idea to bring BAP, UAV for self spotting, backup lasers for some semblance of self-defense defense and if possible, a dedicated NARCer/non shit Lance mates to back you up.

You'll do jack shit on some maps and will get shit on up close and at range by people who don't need to wait for locks + missile travel to do damage, sometimes pinpoint.
