Actually, he might not be. In Fragments he speaks of Ozzy and himself as contemporaries and it's mentioned a few times that they're somewhere in the vicinity of three and a half millennia old. Anyway, the thing is that this means Arash would have been around a long time before the prophet Zarathustra had even been born. The Zoroaster faith is older than the prophet from which it takes its name, but you might see how this creates sort of a weird jumble.
