What would this game be like if actual historians and philosophers worked on it to make sure it wasn't retarded?

What would this game be like if actual historians and philosophers worked on it to make sure it wasn't retarded?

There wouldn't be illuminatis and ayy lmaos behind everything probably.

It wouldn't have le quirky british snarkman narrating all the cutscenese that obnoxious shit was the worst part of AC2 fucking reeeee

Kill yourself.

>wanting historical accuracy in a fucking video game

Again, kill yourself.

Is a game that plays with History and Historical figures as a major selling point. It qualifies as Veeky Forums as much as pic related would.

Like Hitman, except without the Sci-fi subplot and set in renaissance Italy.

Liberty Kids is about conspiracy theories and secret societies running the world? I thought it was about educating kids.

I would have enjoyed the show more if it was.

Templars would be jewish instead of le catholic boogeyman

Kek. You're a fucking idiot. It has a multi-cultural disclaimed needed in modern PC culture, where does that even being to imply 100% historical accuracy?

Fuck off back to /v/ fucking child. Kill yourself.

>posting more /v/ related material
You really are not helping your case, faggot.

It would be exactly like it is, because actual historians and "philosophers" did work on it.

I think the multicultural disclaimer is more about protecting the game from being called out as insanely anti-Catholic than protecting it from actual minorities.

Literally my point, thank you for reiterating it.

>100% historical accuracy?

Right, because a game with literal aliens and magic in it is definitely going for 100% historical accuracy, you fucking moron.

They do seem to have real historians working on designing the cities and some of the side quests.

But then they have the dumbest Hollywood reject screenwriters write the main story.

>insanely anti-Catholic

But it's not?

The Templars aren't even Catholic in the games they're atheists.

Holy shit, you're a fucking idiot.

As expected form someone actually posting in-line with this thread.

>IT'S A HISTORICAL VIDEO GAME
>IT'S NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE AS I RESEARCHED FROM THE WIKI ARTICLE
>WAHH WAHH WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It is, the major plotline of AssCreed 2/Brotherhood is that the Catholic church is not only massively corrupt (true), but it's at the centre of an international conspiracy to enslave the human the race.

Granted Catholicism matters less later into the series and 1 was equally conspiracy-y towards everyone.

The plot of the games centers around most major historical figures being members of one of two ancient, warring secret societies, battling for control of civilization and ancient alien artifacts. I DON'T THINK THEY EXPECT YOU TO TAKE IT AS SERIOUS HISTORY, GUYS.

No. The Templars are not necessarily Catholic in the game, and certainly not all Catholics are Templars.

It was more that the Templars were using Catholicism than that Catholicism itself was evil.

Remember when the Pope said (in regards to the Bible) "you think I believe a word of that ridiculous book?"

Time Travel Shoujo > Liberty's Kids

>all the brilliant (white) men in history weren't brilliant at all, they just had possession of a magical gold ball that gave them superpowers

the basic premise of ass creed is communist

Yes, but the Catholic church was just a front for the Templars given that seemingly everyone in the higher levels of the church and their allies was a Templar.

First of all what the fuck does that have to do with Communism?

Second of all, they extended this to everyone, not just white people. Including famous Communists (I'm pretty sure they said Lenin had a piece of eden or something).

Why do you people have to look for le evil cultural marxist conspiracy in everything jesus christ.

Well yeah obviously on the count Lenin is a explicitly mentioned to be an assassin.

The Crusaders (who were portrayed as the villains) were all Catholic. Yes I know the Eastern Crusades and shit, but AC1 dealt with Templars, Hospitaliers and I think a few Tuetonics. No Orthodox orders.
Even if Alexander VI WAS a complete dick, they spend a lot of time treating the Church as Euro Templar Central even when the Assassin-aligned Julius II shows up in Brotherhood's climax.

And then there's all the shit with the Shroud in Syndicate which is more just an issue with how retardedly they explained the artifacts. If they kept the source as ambiguous as possible, the "disclaimer" wouldn't seem like such a nose-thumbing at the religious. And it would be more intriguing. The "Templars" in the Sanhedrin would execute Jesus to get an artifact they think he has, and while they might get something artifacty, they treat it in such a way that it COULD be just Nazarene dude found an alien trinket OR he really was supernatural and that artifact is an actual relic of him.

Jesus Christ was just a white guy with a magical gold ball

Weren't there a bunch of Muslim villains in the first game too?

In AssCreed 1 it wasn't just the crusaders who were the villains, nor were the crusaders in their entirety villains. The main enemy was revealed not to be the crusaders at all but the grand master of the assassins who was Arab.

Well duh, but the History is peripheral and as a peripheral, it's pissed all over.

Look how they portray Karl Marx in Syndicate, it's College Campus-tier.

Actually Jesus Christ was an alien who used his space powers to appear as a god.

I'm pretty sure that game actually pissed off a bunch of Marxists.

>posting more /v/ related material
Liberty's Kids is /co/.

The Orthodox Church doesn't have orders

It seems like you're looking for something to get triggered by, desu.

No, I'm saying AC1 didn't show any Orthodox knightly orders. Revelations kinda did though, being set in a They Might Be Giants song after all.

Well I guess you'd better go shoot up Charlie Hebdo.

Actually in AC he's associated with a shroud.

It's the best pic I could find of how it's shown in Syndicate.

The Orthodox Church doesn't have any knightly orders and never has

So who were the Byzantine Templars in the game? Or anyone the Eastern Church employed of their own ranks in defense IRL?

Western kids would have more knowledge of the Middle East, Crusades, the Nizaris, and Islam overall.

Too many times are we forced with the view that the Crusades were simply "muh christians and muh muslims". Yet we have the Assassins who carried out attacks on both the Crusaders and Seljuks alike. This alone would greatly change our false perceptions over the Crusades.

Also, most Westerns don't even know the difference between sunni and shia. Showing the beliefs of the Nizaris, and adding the political realities of the Sunni-Shia divide, would greatly enhance the knowledge of Westerners when it comes to these issues.

Finally, showing the riches of the Middle East at that time would change the perception that the Middle East is just a desert. The Middle East at that time was more advanced than Europe, and was a center of philosophy, science, math, etc. If more Westerners knew about this, then maybe we wouldn't be having so many wars in that area.

I haven't played the game. I'm guessing the Byzantine Templas were Latins during the Latin occupation of Constantinople.

The Orthodox Church has never employed soldiers, we're Christ's Body.

Liberty's Kids was a fucking bop of a game and of a show

To be fair 1 did showcase that last point. The most visibly wealthy and developed city in the game was Damascus which was under Muslim control whereas Acre looked like a shithole.

>Yet we have the Assassins who carried out attacks on both the Crusaders and Seljuks alike
I thought the reason Seljuk soldiers mark you for dead was because you look like a Templar.

I don't see how seeing the past of the middle east would lessen conflict and instability, especially when most of it seems to be self inflicted.

So you guys did nothing before your Patriach told our Pope "hey Bro, I know we have our differences and we're still kinda mad about that but FUCKING HELP US!!!!!!!"? I always thought there was at least SOME Orthodox military in Asia Minor. Unless it was Orthodox in the same way the Redcoats were an Anglican Military Order.

There was a Game? I thought it was just the only good DiC cartoon.

Its very telling, how when people believe they are locked in a Manichean battle for the souls of mankind, casually slaughtering hundreds of faceless nameless mooks is as easy and thoughtless as breathing.
>We're openminded and tolerant so murdering those that aren't as liberal as us is perfectly fine.

Our government did something, but not our Church. Just like many kings contributed knights to the Crusades, but as distinct from knights contributed by the RCC. Our Church isn't like how you see it, you saw yours as an earthly empire and a political institution; we never understood Christ's Church to be that.

Well we don't anymore so that's hardly a thing to levy at us in a modern sense. Actually it's sorta like what tippers do when they point at either of us and say "your desert fables support slavery." or when a show tries guilting kids in 2016 for the Trail of Tears.

>self inflicted
Yeah, Iraq invaded itself and Syria gave weapons to Wahhabi terrorists for the purpose of destabilizing itself.

That's because you got rekt by Napoleon though, not because you decided to sing kumbaya.

I'm not trying to levy anything at you, I'm responding to your dissatisfaction with the lack of Orthodox Orders in this game, be explaining to you that such things never existed

The creators are literal fucking Cultural Marxists.

>guy who married a native American woman IRL basically goes full Hitler about the Indian race in the game
>Marx who was an angry cunt wanting bloody revolution IRL is a peaceful old grandpa talking about achieving socialism democratically in the game
>strong black woman single handedly destroys a ring of Spanish slave masters, muh slavery is somehow one of the central topics of three straight games
>every main character is "ahead of his time" and somehow has modern set of morals
>white, rich Christians = EVIL, non-white poor, troublemakers = GOOD GUYS
>Assassins (good guys) always want to fuck shit up and topple to establishment while Templars (bad guys) want some order in society and this somehow bad
>one exception is when you side with the Turkish rulers of Constantinople against Greek reactionaries who want to restore the Roman empire
>Lenin is an Assassin, Alexander III is a Templar
>etc

>the protagonist must be a good guy and not an antihero
You know, you would be considerably less triggered if you just thought of the assassin as an anti-hero and the bad guy, which you seem to anyways. You just have a hard time because you can't self insert.

>Saudi Arabia isn't middle east now

Look at Revelations which basically flipped that role conveniently when you had to side with the establishment (Ottoman Turks) against the "rebels" (Greek Byzantines).

Well, Assassins were a Muslim order, Templars were a Christian order, of course the Assassins are the good guys.

The thing that kills this series is the fact that LITERALLY EVERYTHING in history was an Assassin v Templar or Templar v Templar conflict.
NOTHING happened for natural reasons, it was all orchestrated by puppetmasters and the sheep never notice. Its extremely stupid and cynical.

I'm not dissatisfied. Actually I didn't even know you guys never Deus Vulted, at least the way we did. In fact I was intending to make it clear that the Knights all shown in the game were of Catholic Orders because I was anticipating some twit to bring up the Orthodox as a rebuttal of any kind. The most I knew at any point about Orthodox and the Crusades was what I stated "Patriach begs Pope for help and the Pope helped."

Also pic related is just because you mentioned "getting Rekt by Napoleon." Doesn't have much other point beyond that.
Hell, Napoleon could've been an agent of divine retribution for that in the same way, say, Babylon and Persia were with the Great Exile.

The real historical Assassins and Templars are in the first game only, the rest of the series just puts them in a role of le evil conspiracy noblemen vs le righteous anarchists fighting for the oppressed.

Kek, so triggered!

>Marx who was an angry cunt wanting bloody revolution IRL is a peaceful old grandpa talking about achieving socialism democratically in the game

This actually angered Marxists.

>strong black woman single handedly destroys a ring of Spanish slave masters, muh slavery is somehow one of the central topics of three straight games

Are you saying slavery is good?

>every main character is "ahead of his time" and somehow has modern set of morals

This is true for most fiction. It's annoying, but people will complain otherwise.

>>white, rich Christians = EVIL, non-white poor, troublemakers = GOOD GUYS

Almost every single protagonist of the series has been white. And the games go out of their way at every opportunity to show that their villains aren't even real Christians.

>le evil conspiracy noblemen vs le righteous anarchists fighting for the oppressed

It's not even that. The assassins are not really the "good guys." Although that's not obvious at first, and clearly goes right over the heads of /pol/fags.

>strong black woman single handedly destroys a ring of Spanish slave masters, muh slavery is somehow one of the central topics of three straight games
>Are you saying slavery is good

I think he's saying something like "We get it, smoking is bad, please stop making commercials that portray a box of smokes as being a facehugger and Marlboro Corporate Offices as a Satanic Temple."

"It's bad, please stop hammering it in, we get it."

>This actually angered Marxists.

It angered genuine old school Marxists, not the new hipster left the authors subscribe to where Marx, Lenin and Che Guevara are basically friendly pop stars.

>Are you saying slavery is good?

No, read the sentence again. It feels forced as fuck, like when Connor is lambasting all the founding fathers for having slaves out of nowhere, as if it wasn't completely normal for the time (native Americans owned slaves too).

>Almost every single protagonist of the series has been white.

No, at best it's like half and half.

Altair = Arab
Connor = native American
Aveline = black
Adewale = black

It's the antagonists who are almost always white.

>we get it

Yes, but we live in 2016, not 1816.

>Altair = Arab
Syrian. But close enough.

>as if it wasn't completely normal for the time

It was a very divisive issue even then, user.

>Half and half

So you are unironically complaining that less than 100% of the protagonists are white? This is what's triggering you?

And the games present their message with modern veiws to a modern audience and also hamfist it into the historical setting where it really doesn't work.

It's like explaining the virtues of free-market capitalism to Vercingetorix.

It's probably worth noting that Altair looks weirdly white for an Arab.

A lot of the other characters actually look middle eastern but Altair looks as white as Desmond.

Pretty much all the antagonists are white, that's what is triggering me.

game is created by a bunch of french cucks, what do you expect?

Desmond looks middle eastern as fuck. At the absolute best he looks like a Turk.

>It's probably worth noting that Altair looks weirdly white for an Arab.
>A lot of the other characters actually look middle eastern but Altair looks as white as Desmond
Ever see the Lebanese actor Tony Shalhoub?

Lots of Middle Easterners (or anyone /pol/ irreverently calls "Sand Niggers") look pretty white.

>dat pic
>Implying the Third Reich wasn't heavily catholic

Yes, I am.

Man, Catholics have saints for everything.

You can't really call the Frankokratia help

Well good for you. The pic is still retarded

>people here are seriously having in depth discussions about asscreed

seriously? do you read dan brown novels as well?

The better parts of this.

The Most ridiculously Catholic thing about this man is that he was active in an society dedicating to naming things after Virgin Mary.

>not having deep discussions about shallow media

Cmon son, it's like you don't want to flex your intellectual muscles

[SNIFFING INTENSIFIES]

What is it boy?

Is little Jimmy stuck in the well?

It would take 20 years of painstaking detail to make only to be shit on for not having enough detail by their academic peers.

The Franciscans?

It is precisely opposite the case, you see.

Have it actually involve plotting and carrying out elaborate assassinations instead of sci-fi conspiracies and ancient alien prophesies, all the while studying the social and political divisions at play to better understand and plan the deed.

No. I don't have the name right now, much smaller group. But he's the Apostle of the Consecration to Mary. Basically he REALLY liked dedicating stuff to Mary.

Most likely really boring

>implying it isnt already boring

Makes sense considering his childhood.

>Almost every single protagonist of the series has been white.
Only one was.

>Italians aren't white
>Frenchmen aren't white
>Irishmen aren't white
>English twins aren't white
>Russians aren't white

Please, let's not do this.

>Wops are white
>Clouf-Booter are white
>Leprecoons are white
>Pinkos are white.
