You can't even tunnel vision on the host and one shot him (which most souls pvp has relied on to kill ganks since forever) if they use untrue rings.

Character names being used online means that if they wanted to, they could use untrue and the same char name, making it impossible to tell who is the host.

Because quality stops at 40 strength, and pure strength stops at 40 strength
A quality build is a pure strength build that's just spent 30 more levels on scaling damage.

Tertiary stats like vigor, endurance and vitality are either
A. too easy to softcap
B. worthless
Which means that specializing in a single damage stat so that you save 30 levels to invest elsewhere doesn't net any tangible benefit.

That's why SL120, aka "I cap vigor and endurance, get all the vitality I could ever want and then cap 2 offensive stats" is cancer. You have more levels than you do worthwhile stats, so there's nothing left to do but just cap everything and then pump damage up and up and up until it can't go up any more, and then the grand total of 6 weapons that make use of all those scaling points dominate over everything else.

Oh, I see. Imo, it's not such a bad thing. It was a bit unfair that weapons with pure STR/DEX scaling could get the same damage as a quality weapon, because quality requires a lot more stat investment.
You can still do ok with a heavy infused STR weapon in DaS3.
