Maybe they fixed a lot of the problems I had with it. The pacing was bad. I couldn't care about the characters. Way too many fucking skits every 5 goddamn steps.

I have similar problems with Hearts R. The pacing and writing is bad. Shing is a stupid protagonist. Couldn't care about most of the characters. Battle system was surprisingly frustrating with just how much it takes to break enemy guard compared to how easily you get interrupted during combos.

If you're going in blind just use whoever you want. If you're going for all the endings you need to play around with some characters' levels and raise everyone's friendship but that's not something to worry about if you plan to do NG+
