Yeah. It's hard to judge because IX is pretty linear while Quests' is pretty disjoint with a lot of gameplay in between

Just a did a quick check by decompiling the games' files. Seems like Rance IX has more characters, but Rance Quest Magnum has more lines of text. This is probably because a lot of RQM's text is just short little names and tiny strings. So overall it seems like IX would actually take longer than Quest to translate, probably. Didn't expect that.

I think Quest with Magnum with newest patch is definitely longer than IX. It is also possible that IX is shorter than VI or Sengoku.

IX seems short since it's mostly text with a bit of gameplay in-between. Other titles have gameplay with text in-between, so they seem longer.

You'll finish IX quicker than you finish VI or Sengoku but in terms of text it's a much longer game

I think I might've cracked the Yokai girls stuff. It's random, but it's determined as soon as the game knows what units you're going to face.

This might also have something to do with why hardly anyone reports failure capturing the girls - when they first appear, the game knows that you're going to face them, and they might be hard coded to be capped if you succeed the first time (or, it may just be that whatever is used to make the game force the girl to be present in the battle also puts the RNG in the right state for them to be capped).

Thoughts? It's what my current experiments seem to show - if I screenshot before I find out if I've got the girl or not, then I note down the result of the fight (get the girl or not) and then reload, it seems that I can predict whether or not I'm getting the girl based on the enemy formation that I see upon scouting.

I don't know about that hard coded thing, but I did realize that I had much harder time to capture them at higher difficulty (and harder means the chance to trigger the capture scenes is smaller, not the difficulty of defeating them in battle).

Yeah, I can't really get myself in the OVA. I mean, it's nice to see Rance getting more popular via this adaption, but the animation is so dissapointing. I enjoy fapping to the Rance 1 Doujinshi (the pulptenks's one) 10 times better than the OVA.

I just took a quick look at some hentai online websites, there are some people commenting that they like the ova and even asked where can they get the eroge. So yes, Rance is getting more popular.

The last time I read about websites like that was someone ranking the rance ova (reason being it's too hyped) in the bottom 5 while some generic wife ntr-rapefest was the best one
