Thing is, in RO the radial layout of maps meant you had a choice for different levels. There was some fun to be had in that, too, when you wanted to get away from the crowd on the optimal grind path and just take in the sights, since you had to commit to wandering around on your own, what with the lack of fast travel.

TOS' world map is set up with two linear paths and no branching or radial pattern, and the quests are in-your-face about breadcrumbing you to the next zone faster than you're ready for it. It doesn't help that EXP cards form a majority of your "progression" for so much of the game, so there's little if any reward for refusing to quest.

So in RO you had to find the fun, and in TOS you're having fun shoved down your throat.

The problem with ToS is that leveling is forced down a railroad because of level differences.

In RO, a lvl10 acolyte/archer/mage could go to GH and get insane exp from just hitting the zombies a couple of times while actual high leveled players kill it.

You can do that shit in ToS. Try that and you'd do 1 damage to an enemy just 20 levels higher than you

Forgot to mention, QS3 is very reliant on your ping since doing basic attacks requires some back and forth data transfer before your attack actually registers. Only take QS3 if you have excellent ping to the servers

You would never use z as a QS3, you'll be circle-strafing constantly to kite bosses etc so mouse mode is way more comfy.

DPS-wise fletcher is only efficient against mobs you're one-shotting by very small margins. Sustained dps a QS-> Musket/Cannon is way better over time. Saying over time may be a misnomer since that span of time is literally ~5 seconds to start out-dps-ing a fletcher.
