Not sure if this is commonly known or not, but I saw a conversation about gem abrasives on the past thread. On the mini-game on Kadumel Cliff you can get more abrasives depending on your combo count (at least I think it is combo count):

Low combos or fail a lot: 4 Basic Gem Abrasive
5~7+ Combo: 4 Basic Gem Abrasive + 1 Intermediate Gem Abrasive
No fails (or high combo possibly): 4 Basic Gem Abrasive + 1 Advanced Gem Abrasive

On the last one I think it is with no fails, but it could be lower. I have only managed to get an Advanced once, but it was without failing any of the balls.

Also, you don't get the abrasives all at the same time. If you got a good amount of combos you have to talk to the box again after getting the 4 Basic ones, it will shine and it will give you either the Intermediate or the Advanced one after you talk to it again.

Sometimes it bugs out and you have to talk to the box a few times so it gives you the Intermediate one, but that rarely happens to me, maybe it was because server lag.

Keep farming, eventually it will drop

Cross Guard is amazing. Got it on lvl10, it blocks fucking everything except magic. And for mobbing you need only 1circle of Pelt anyway.
