I really wish ck2's economy and trade were a bit more in depth. they could expand upon horse lords and make it so that emmpty holdings in any non desert/tundra province (for every government type) are farms and provide whatever crop/animal product that's preordained for that province. things like droughts would matter more. you'd gain/lose population based on your food situation you could expand NAPs to include trade alliances with your neighbors where you trade your excess goods. you'd have to add goods beyond food, but I don't have any idea for that. if you trade with people who aren't right next to your boarder, it'd create a trade route betwen you that you'd want to defend expand upon the silk road to have trade routes in more places. instead of it getting blocked completely by war, have the actual route it takes be dynamic. war blocking the way in provinces it normally takes? it'll go north where it's safer. could also make it so it's more likely to go through feudal lands than nomad lands unless the nomads control a large part of the route. provinces could maybe get modifiers if they're regularly fought over, and the trade route would be less likely to go through there if their current route gets blocked

On 22 March 1917, Nicholas, no longer a monarch and addressed with contempt by the sentries as "Nicholas Romanov", was reunited with his family at the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoe Selo. He was placed under house arrest with his family by the Provisional Government, surrounded by guards and confined to their quarters.
In August 1917, Alexander Kerensky's provisional government evacuated the Romanovs to Tobolsk, allegedly to protect them from the rising tide of revolution. There they lived in the former governor's mansion in considerable comfort. After the Bolsheviks came to power in October 1917, the conditions of their imprisonment grew stricter, and talk of putting Nicholas on trial grew more frequent. Nicholas was forbidden to wear epaulettes, and the sentries scrawled lewd drawings on the fence to offend his daughters. On 1 March 1918, the family was placed on soldier's rations, which meant parting with 10 devoted servants and giving up butter and coffee.

As the Bolsheviks gathered strength, the government in April moved Nicholas, Alexandra, and their daughter Maria to Yekaterinburg under the direction of Vasily Yakovlev. Alexei was too ill to accompany his parents and remained with his sisters Olga, Tatiana, and Anastasia, not leaving Tobolsk until May 1918. The family was imprisoned with a few remaining retainers in Yekaterinburg's Ipatiev House, which was designated The House of Special Purpose.
The Romanovs were being held by the Red Army in Yekaterinburg, since Bolsheviks initially wanted to put them on trial. As the civil war continued and the White Army (a loose alliance of anti-Communist forces) was threatening to capture the city, the fear was that the Romanovs would fall into White hands. This was unacceptable to the Bolsheviks for two reasons: first, the tsar or any of his family members could provide a beacon to rally support to the White cause; second, the tsar, or any of his family members if the tsar were dead, would be considered the legitimate ruler of Russia by the other European nations. This would have meant the ability to negotiate for greater foreign intervention on behalf of the Whites. Soon after the family was executed, the city fell to the White Army.
The opening up of the Soviet archives in the 1990s showed that, in fact, the decision to execute the Romanov family was taken by Lenin in the first week of July 1918, as he was advised to by Filipp Goloshchyokin. Goloshchyokin had been sent to Ekaterinburg to organise the execution, and had sent Lenin a coded telegram on 16 July 1918 informing him that the execution had to take place because the Czech Legion was surrounding the city.
Asher White
In mid-July 1918, forces of the Czechoslovak Legion were closing on Yekaterinburg, to protect the Trans-Siberian Railway, of which they had control. According to historian David Bullock, the Bolsheviks falsely believed that the Czechoslovaks were on a mission to rescue the family, panicked and executed their wards. The Legions arrived less than a week later and on July 25 captured the city.
During the imperial family's imprisonment in late June, Petr Voikov directed the smuggling of letters written in French to the Ipatiev House claiming to be a monarchist officer seeking to rescue them, composed at the behest of the Cheka. These fabricated letters, along with the Romanov responses to them (written either on blank spaces or on the envelope), were ultimately used by Lenin's government to justify murdering the imperial family.

Around midnight, Yakov Yurovsky, the commandant of The House of Special Purpose, ordered the Romanovs' physician, Dr. Eugene Botkin, to awaken the sleeping family and ask them to put on their clothes, under the pretext that the family would be moved to a safe location due to impending chaos in Yekaterinburg. The Romanovs were then ordered into a 6m×5m semi-basement room. Nicholas asked if Yurovsky could bring two chairs, on which Tsarevich Alexei and Alexandra sat.
The prisoners were told to wait in the cellar room while the truck that would transport them was being brought to the House. A few minutes later, an execution squad of secret police was brought in and Yurovsky read aloud the order given him by the Ural Executive Committee:
>Nikolai Alexandrovich, in view of the fact that your relatives are continuing their attack on Soviet Russia, the Ural Executive Committee has decided to execute you.

Nicholas, facing his family, turned and said "What? What?" Yurovsky quickly repeated the order and the weapons were raised. The Empress and Grand Duchess Olga, according to a guard's reminiscence, had tried to cross themselves, but failed amid the shooting. Yurovsky reportedly raised his gun at Nicholas's torso and fired; Nicholas fell dead. Yurovsky then shot Alexei. The other executioners then began shooting chaotically until all the intended victims had fallen. Several more shots were fired and the doors opened to scatter the smoke. There were some survivors, so Peter Ermakov stabbed them with bayonets because the shots could be heard outside. The last to die were Tatiana, Anastasia, and Maria, who were carrying a few pounds (over 1.3 kg) of diamonds sewn into their clothing, which had given them a degree of protection from the firing. However, they were speared with bayonets as well. Olga sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Maria and Anastasia were said to have crouched up against a wall covering their heads in terror until they were shot down. Yurovsky himself killed Tatiana and Alexei. Tatiana died from a single bullet through the back of her head. Alexei received two bullets to the head, right behind the ear after the executioners realized he had not been killed by the first shot. Anna Demidova, Alexandra's maid, survived the initial onslaught but was quickly stabbed to death against the back wall while trying to defend herself with a small pillow which she had carried that was filled with precious gems and jewels.

In 1343, King Diego the "JUST", having spent his life uniting the realm, had his stable vision for the the future of his house turned slightly astray when a Polish prince from a cadet branch of the Jimena family was set to take the throne.
As is tradition, the dukes of Navarra saw it a fit opportunity to try and wrestle away the absolute power the king now held, before he knew how to deal it. If they had read in the history books, they'd know that Navarran tradition when dealing with traitors is beheading.

An official announcement appeared in the national press, two days later. It reported that the monarch had been executed on the order of Uralispolkom under pressure posed by the approach of the Czechoslovaks. Although official Soviet accounts place the responsibility for the decision with the Uralispolkom, Leon Trotsky in his diary reportedly suggested Vladimir Lenin. Trotsky wrote:
>My next visit to Moscow took place after the fall of Yekaterinburg. Talking to Sverdlov I asked in passing: >Oh yes and where is the Tsar? >It's all over, he has been shot. >And where is his family? >And the family with him. >All of them? I asked, apparently with a touch of surprise. >All of them, replied Yakov Sverdlov. >What about it? >He was waiting to see my reaction. I made no reply. >And who made the decision? I asked. >We decided it here. Ilyich [Lenin] believed that we shouldn't leave the Whites a live banner to rally around, especially under the present difficult circumstances.

I'm new to CK2. I just conquered Norway and I'm trying my best to take in all the new information that comes with conquering an entire kingdom and gaining tons of new vassals and so on.
One thing I'd like to know if it's possible to ''re-arrange'' who holds what counties and such, without infuriating people.
I'd like to maximize my demesne in the most attractive counties, and then spread out the remaining demesne amongst my subjects, is this possible or should I just go with what counties, jarldoms and chiefdoms my new vassals came with?
>One thing I'd like to know if it's possible to ''re-arrange'' who holds what counties and such, without infuriating people.
Plot to revoke counties/duchies, marry family members into the family holding the title and assassinate your way into inheriting it, discover if they're plotting anything so you can imprison and revoke title

Time for some nighttime Napoleon.
Christmas day 1924--the same time that France's army reform was finalized, almost two years after the reform program began--Napoleon V spent most of his time away from his wife and young son, arguing with members of the Assembly, themselves irate over being pulled from their own families, over finances being diverted to a large-scale shipbuilding program.
According to French spy networks, in response to France's army buildup, Britain has shipped most of her colonial troops back home and has undertaken a furious bout of shipbuilding, which Napoleon V characterizes as a "clear act of aggression" against France.
"What motivation could Great Britain have in constructing an even more massive navy than our own," the monarch reasoned, "but to use it in an offensive against France? All evidence suggests it. They recall all their colonial troops, they build frigates and destroyers aplenty. Clearly they intend to strike at us, the greatest of all Latin nations, to save their detestable Germanic brethren!"
The majority of the Assembly is not motivated by Napoleon V's racist ramblings, especially not the mighty Socialists, who enjoy a single-party plurality. Yet the Assembly is still operating under an AF coalition government, and ever since the AF was placed in power they have been gradually weakening the other parties and swallowing up people of even moderately similar ideologies into their ranks. The Royaliste and Nationaliste parties have largely been absorbed into the AF, and every day the coalition government under Maurras expands its control and pours out pro-Napoleonic--and pro-AF--propoganda leaflets. In the face of rapidly-shifting public opinion and a majority in the Assembly, other parties are powerless to stop Napoleon's goal. They can only serve to limit him, to 10 more battleships and 50 new cruisers.

Napoleon V is a literal memer user.
Honestly I don't know, it annoyed the shit out of me as well. There should at least be a province between the Meuse and the Rhine so autists can changeowner it or some shit.
To the contrary, Napoleon III was really pretty buoyant until the last years of his life. Napoleon IV was long-suffering while he was Prince Regent, but wasn't really depressed until he had to kill his father. Joseph is just an edgy fuck though, I give you that.
They actually did. Pulled their 400,000 total troops in Nigeria and Gambia out (they only have ~65,000 there now) and built up their navy so extensively their military score now exceeds my own, even with my huge buildup. That's most of the reason why I'm building my own navy up, so I have a chance against them in the dismantlement war.
Thanks user.
