Its easy on a low stamina cost melee where you can dodge a lot but casting is difficult.

I have such a short time frame for casting I need to be really precise.
The main problem I have though is I keep getting hit by his charge.

Do I rather side dodge it or through him? I never know when the hit connects. I find it difficult to read.

You have to delay your rolls pretty well at oceiros.

I just try to mix things up with every playthrough and this one is all about distance.
The part that gets me is that I dont see any hint on when he strikes during his charge.
But I often have this with beast mobs/bosses in souls games.

matchmaking is based on level, as before, but there are also restrictions based on upgrade level, so you can't twink by taking a +10 weapon to the starting areas

there is no arena but FCs are very common at an area about halfway through the game

In Dark Souls 1 you had to defeat a relatively hard boss at a low level.
In Dark Souls 2 you had to avoid every enemy and rush your ass to Straid without weapon upgrades or spending any unnecessary soul.

In Dark Souls 3 you have to rush through most of the game with a +2 weapon at a low level.
And after that you will be constantly fighting gank squads and 4v1s, unending streams of summons and blues, with half your estus.

But I don't know about 3, but in 1 every weapon class had other hidden innate crit multipliers. I remember curved swords having a lower one than average and curved greatswords having an increased one, for example (respectively 1.8 and 2.25 multiplier on backstabs compared to the "normal" 2)

Even in /bbg/, you would constantly get level 43 people begging to be password-summon carried through the Orphan of Kos.

Password-summons and being able to trade shit makes it even easier in DaS3. You see people on here all the time asking for others to drop them NG++ rings.
