I would suggest not buying stocks straight out of the gate, do some online stock trading games that use the real market prices and see how you do, use that to learn how to make money. Second don't day trade, you'll be more likely to lose money than gain it. And lastly, don't be afraid of dividend stocks, you won't necessarily see a return on your money just now, but 4-5% dividend payout per year reinvested can turn into more money, you aren't going to be a millionaire overnight, that shit takes time, unless you are super lucky and hit it big with a stock.
