I'm new to robinhood and trading.
Years ago I foolishly bought AMD at 3.40 as it was headed into a slump. I held onto it until it hit $7, and made $40. It was a nice feeling, and one I wanted to feel again.
So I signed up for robinhood. Thing is, I'm having a hard time reading candlestick trends. I got into AMD, HTBX, and AQMS and couldn't get out in time. I could see holding AMD until it goes up, but the other two are so volatile (especially HTBX) that I feel like I'd be better off cutting my losses.
How do you decide when to hold, and when to sell? What metrics/ analysis do you use?

Gold typically rallies August-December and we're headed into an election which means economic uncertainty. The market is also overvalued and due for a good crash.
