With nourishing gems, yeah. If you're just using flat arc, you can leave your scaling stats at minimum wielding requirements and rely on gems for damage.

Yep. Settings are all good. I had this same problem earlier with someone else. Try changing the password to rage Scales super good with STR, has serrated damage, and its tricked L2 can tear some enemies apart.

Don't listen to Lushitter, the Cane's good. Use the tricked mode to outrange the shit out of everything, and it'll catch up in damage later on once its Skill scaling gets higher.

Difficult to say, Yharnam proper is my favorite, but it is several areas blended together and they compliment each other
Cainhurst is clearly inspired by Ariamis, although Fish Hamlet is close in tone to it. For my money Fishing Hamlet is the best single area, wish it were bigger.
