I love video games in general and have enjoyed games from most genres throughout my life. Recently, however, I've been unable to properly enjoy most things I play for various reasons. I tend to like games of "skill" where I'm required to both use the dexterity of my hands and out-think opponents or solve puzzles. Super Smash Brothers: Melee has been satisfying my itch in this for some time, but I have also enjoyed speedrunning from time to time. While speedrunning most popular games (SM64, Metroid, Zelda games, etc.) does require the dexterity of the hands, I've basically convinced myself that this isn't real "skill," but simple muscle memorization. Is this true?
