I cant speak for ranger boy, but for me it was Boot then 37 wks AIT in Fort Lee, I lived in New york at the time so I pretty much left everything I had behind and went where the army sent me. By the time I had my MOS they stationed me at the 703rd EOD in Kentucky. So yea for about 5 years it was nothing but training and by year 3 I was deployed to Iraq. By year 7 I was stationed in Korea in Camp Castle until they turned the base back over to the koreans (Met my wife there too) But ill tell you what in those 7 years I had saved enough money to buy a house when I got back into the states, stayed in for 1 more year then Left the service and went to Culinary school. Trust me when I say this though, that part of my life went by at a mile a minute, so while it may seem like a long time, youre so busy you hardly even realize it.
