I'm already getting tired of playing and it's only been a week. hell, I wasn't even a beta player. Maybe I just need to take a break, but still. It's really lacking in genuine content.
The game is just too fucking shallow in its current state. I hope Blizzard has a big content patch planned for it within the next few months.

Question: The game sets up this whole story with OverWatch and omnics and blackwatch and all that shit.

But why are all these people push a truck through these places. TF2 had very little story, but most of it was why you are pushing a payload and capping shit. Why are we pushing a pickup truck around the world? Why are reaper and junkrat and soldier 76 working together?

I just stopped questioning what I decided to ship a while ago.

I like TF2 more. Character match ups didn't feel as dominating, and I felt like it was much more possible for a single player to carry a team. In OW, a lot of characters cannot do much to improve their odds in certain situations- Winston can pretty much only hold W and M1, maybe throw his shield down if the duel is challenging, or jump away if the situation is insurmountable. You do not win, your character does. A lot of characters flat out cannot possibly kill a decent Tracer. A lot of characters cannot possibly muster the DPS to kill Winston before they die.

The game is like League and Smash Bros - not congruent to the actual lore, but a giant "what if" scenario where they all come to fight shit.

As for the maps, I've wondered about the stories behind them, too. I think the misson behind London's map is escorting or preventing some omnic EMP bomb to a terrorist organization. Hollywood is protecting some omnic director or movie star from an assassination. The Temple of Anubis is preventing the opposing team from hacking into its AI system. Dorado is escorting Los Meurtos drugs or bank hiest money back to the Vishcar corporation. Nubai is escorting or preventing Doomfist's guantlet from reaching Overwatch or some other Military organization - basically an extension of the plot behind the very first cinematic short.
