NC is my first and only tier VIII. I played a hundred battles with the A hull (because loleconomy) before they buffed it. I must say the buff is very noticeable:

you can bring all your guns to bearing, even the aft turret (and the first turret as well when aiming backwards), and you can actually hit stuff. Before the buff getting a citpen (or just a hit) was due to sheer luck, now I run an average of one-two citpen per battle, because now shells actually hit where you aim (relatively speaking of course); still, your shells are slow as fuck, and people will WASD-hack them if they're not completely brain-dead. AA has improved and now in port is rated 99 (with the AA range mod), which means that tier VI CV can't even get near, and tier VII will suffer lots of losses while attacking you; tier VIII and above disregard your AA anyway, but at least you can take down a plane or two before being bombed and torped to oblivion.

When you're top tier you can pull shit like my last battle, and even against tier IX you can do some tricks like webm related, but when you're bottom tier there's nothing that can help you except maybe a terribly retarded enemy.

tl;dr before it was suffering and frustration condensed, now it's very enjoyable

I don't know how the Iowa plays like, but if you feel its running costs are too high, and you don't mind facing tier X in a tier VIII BB, then you could rebuy it.

Try to do some sealclubbing in Kongou/NewYork. It can help to freshen memory.
If you want cruisers go for furutaka. She got nice buff, and can remind you a thing or 2 about playing heavy cruisers.

Its definitely fun to play now, especiallywith the buff to the rear turret arc and accuracy. Also has longer ranged and more accurate secondaries as well

Were secondaries buffed recently? I've been getting a lot more of those secondary kill medals lately. I actually have to worry about secondaries in my DDs now, they're not just harmlessly splashing into the water.
