Although the move might have been doubted by the international community at large, putting an untested family member on a foreign throne actually turned out well in this instance.

In hindsight, seeing how the Stuarts themselves came as foreigners to Navarra, it is easy to see how a seemingly untested family member might get properly educated on how to run a "foreign" state.

In 1600, the French and English governments finally combined, and now all French matters were settled in Paris.

The advantage this posed to the French meant that they now had more men than Navarra or even the Kaiser, so the Navarran king, Suleyman I, devised a war plan.

The Black Company would lead the largest merchant fleet Europe had ever seen, half of them intercepting any French fleets and half focusing on blockades and embargoes. The Dutch would slowly take the North, whilst the Navarrans and Portuguese desperately hold out in the Pyrannean mountains.

However, even the mountains could not stop the overwhelming numbers of the French, and when the Portuguese decided to focus on North Africa what a fucking surprise retreat was the only option.

The Netherlands and the Portuguese peace'd out, the French armies are incredibly strong with their national and offensive ideas.
