>One small step... jk were not doing that stuff anymore, we need money for welfare checks

>inb4 fake

>discussing something that never happened

>no complains on all those threads about armenian genocide

It sure was a thing that happened.

Probably one of the most important events of the 20th century right up there with splitting the atom. If the vision of a spacefaring humanity in the future is accurate they may well use July 20th 1969 as an epoch events

It's more like everyone got bored and there wasn't any obvious step up from doing moon landings.

Why was the moon landing so much more impressive than all previous achievements? No seriously.

The first satellite in orbit, the first animal in orbit, the first human in orbit, the first space walk, the first space docking, first moon probe, first moon rover, first probe around another planet etc. Why is the moon landing considered the pinnacle of space faring when it's just the culmination if arguably much more revolutionary achievements.

Because a human was standing on the moon.
Think of the tens of thousands of years man looked up the moon, and wondered what's up there, why is this thing in the sky, is it a God? Then we were fucking standing on it.

The reality was that NASA couldn't hold Congress' attention after the political goal of beating the Soviets at the space race was achieved.

It's actually fairly easy to get an object into space and orbit once you get the very basic physics figured out. It's so easy that you get taught how to do it in entry-level physics courses at most universities. Being able to enter space, orbit another interstellar body, land on said interstellar body, take-off into space again, and return to earth is far more impressive.

JEWS DID 9/11

the moon landing was the worst kubrick film

Within ten years there won't be anyone alive who's walked on the moon. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Heads up, there's CURRENTLY no one alive who's walked on the moon

Nah, there's still a few, they're all old as balls though.

What did you say, fucker?

See

>Why was the moon landing so much more impressive than all previous achievements?
because dirty commies did it first and that doesn't count

Yes it happened. Only the images are fake. In reality they found the moon has aliens.
This explains why they looked so pale on that press conference.

The life support systems, velocity calculations, and engineering standards involved are pretty hectic.

Especially if the computer chip doesn't exist yet, and you have to physically land a rocket on the moon with a velocity computer that has less processing power than a modern wristwatch, and land well enough that you can take off and get back to earth.

>implying any of them ever walked on the moon

don't be delusional
