If I took Superman and made him into a mopey, depressing asshole who doesn't give a shit about human life, would he still be Superman? No, he'd be a completely unrelated character who has a Superman coat of paint on him. A character is made by their personality, not their name and a few vague elements of their appearance. You could take Tammy, turn her yellow, give her a beak, and call her Chica, that doesn't actually make her any more relevant to the source material because she's still nothing like the original Chica.

So what, do you think that Coldsteel is just as valid of a Sonic character as Sonic himself? Come the fuck on.

You aren't going to win this argument because yes even a sad depressing Superman story is still a Superman story. The same way Batman can be campy and fun as well as brooding and serious. Both are valid interpretations.

That doesn't even remotely follow the logic I presented. Sonic has an actual personality where some deviations from it can be more extreme than others. FNAF characters, by virtue of their complete lack of personality, are such that any interpretation of them that gives them a personality is basically just an OC.

I'm talking about the core elements of the character, not the tone of the story. Those are different things.

There are lots of stories about Superman being a mopey depressing asshole. Some of them are very good Superman stories.

I read them because they are a different take on Superman. I did not read a story about SuperDuperAwesomeMan, some high schooler's fanfiction about his original character who hangs out with Superman.

If they're the characters from the game with our OC personalities, they're still FNAF characters. Beamz, Tammy, the Dinobots, etc are not FNAF characters because we created them.

Thanks, I've been trying to improve my overall style, be a bit more fluid rather than solid shapes for the characters. I noticed that a lot of my stuff was weird inconsistent mix of realistic and cartoony that looked like shit.
