Pretty much. There's options if you don't want to play a theme park game, but if you want a traditional mmo and like Final Fantasy this is it. I wasn't a huge FF fan, but this is a polished game with lots of nice peripherals (e.g., music, art style, crafting system). It's pretty fun, but I am a sandbox player at heart and went back to that after playing this for a year.

Welcome to MMO design ever since 2006. Most dungeons are just hallways, though most developers will attempt to hide the fact by adding in twists and turns. Doesn't change the fact that there is one linear path from beginning to end.

Complex dungeons do not exist anymore. You shouldn't be any more disappointed by that map than any other.
