It was somewhat neat that reading the book gives you another dialogue option though, makes me wonder if that has ever applied elsewhere and I didn't notice.

You can save them both. Talk with Syanna before the trial and lead the conversation carefully.
During the trial, don't tell Henrietta about the murder attempt and be on side of Syanna.

Sign builds make fighting anything susceptible to burning incredibly trivial. Stamina regeneration is high enough it can be continuously cast to stunlock enemies, even more with the 3 griffon set bonus.

It can definitely be powerful, but it's not especially enjoyable.

Yes. The bossfights are great, although I still like the first fight with Olgierd the most.
Also, there's a few new normal enemies that are absolutely fucking great. Archespores and Scolopendromorphs are just fantastic to fight, and initially extremely difficult as well.

At the end of the game, go after Syanna but don't take the ribbon. She gets killed, duchess is pissed off and you go to prison.

Do you still get arrested if you kill Dettlaff after he kills Syanna?

I would assume so, since you get thrown in prison mainly for getting Syanna killed. I'd expect a softer trial since you did your job but that's all.

I heard that this is the last witcher game with Geralt. Will we never see him again or is there the chance that we'll play Ciri in the next one and Geralt appears as a side character or something along those lines? While I enjoyed the Dlc and the main game I don't feel any sort of closure.
