Sorry for the potentially dumb question, but have there been any type of balance patches for MH4U?

Asking because im looking at some guides from around release month, and i want to know if there might be outdated info due to balance patches etc.

Is Bombadier mandatory for Blast SnS build? Also Lightbreak or Teostra? I'm think Teostra due to the high Blast rate and Purple Sharpness but Lightbreak has really good stats as well.

I assume you mean for it to be a general purpose SnS build. In which case neither--go with true ruiner or awakened reigning grissword. High raw and miles of white without needing any sharpness skills makes up for not having any practical level of purple, but awaken can hurt its case if you don't have any charms for it.

So is MHX actually good? Or should I just stick with 4U?

If you enjoy constantly disconnecting from rooms just to talk to some fuck in another village to get the next quest in the chain over and over again then MHX is fun. Everyone is playing MHO now anyway so just play that instead.

Servers are up but the translation devs don't recommend enabling the patch until they look through the changes and release a new version in the next few days. The update added new content,and the translation patch could potentially trigger tencent's anti-tamper and ban you since it could think you removed files from the game.

If you want the next quest to unlock whatever monster you need you have to visit people in the villages to get it. So if you're doing them online you have to disconnect and go to the village to get the hunt from them. And YOU have to initiate the hunt. Don't think you can get around it by doing someone else's.

Caravaneer's is easy, I think most of us probably got it on our first try. Master's test is the hard one.

Is it just me or is plesioth the only monster in the series that's frighteningly huge? Even dala is whatever but something about plesioth is extremely unsettling to me, like it's not supposed to be that big.

Use a blast weapon or partbreaker. Or use a weaker weapon so it doesn't die as fast

you can try to go out of your way to ensure that every attack hits the head

alternatively, try a different weapon with more focused attacks, like lance or GS

What's the best GS I can make atm if I just unlocked tier 4 quests in main story? Only done a small number of guild quests for farming velocidrome or whatever.
