Did you know that Ravage has a range of 1025? They expected Empire to be behind the DK, not two screens away from the DK, which is a logical assumption. Empire just had the much much better draft: Riki can blink in, lifestealer uses riki as a taxi, disruptor has large range as well and Sand King can initiate from 2 screens away with aghs scepter so they did not have to be close to dk.

If you think they were not 100% sure that the whole team was behind DK, then you are oblivious. This was not a bad play from Tidehunter in se, it was logical, but got countered hard through the draft where Empire got much more initiation range than Team Secret, who basically had tidehunter who can jump and 4 plants who have to walk in to the fight.

Even if EG didn't win TI5 last year, they still deserve a spot IMO. I can't list of any better T2 team right now, and they did OK in Epicenter and Weplay. They choked in the major, sure, but that doesn't mean they're absolute trash. They went against VG.R which is still a very strong team even if they're not at 100%. EG will get an invite cause they won TI5 regardless.

Sing did really well on Cloud9. At TI4 he was literally the only reason they got even 1/2 as far as they did.

Sing's issue is that he's highly sensative to the quality of the team he is on. On a team with good players he can make ridiculous plays and fucking destroy everybody. On a team with bad players he doesn't do nearly as much.
