If Yumi General just had Senran Kagura General /skg/ #776 in the title it would've been fine, but changing the name meant that Anons wouldn't have been able to search for it unless they knew about the joke namechange.

Enemies break out of your combos more easily and aerial raves are pretty useless, so SK is more focused on using small openings to build up and spend ninpos as often as possible while using their invincibility to stay safe

Some characters like Katsuragi and Hikage can spend a scroll to enter a more powerful stance, do this as often as possible since their defaults are kind of shitty

If you're in a pinch a jumping heavy attack can clear some space and set up easy stunlocks, be aware that most bosses can do it too if you get greedy

The shinobi stones you get from challenges are pretty busted so be aware that using them might utterly trivialize the game

I suspect the big three things that screwed over SK2 was:

A) the lack of warning over the radical change in gameplay (and how it basically flipped what the first game taught upside down)

B) The whole "introduce unplayable characters"

Both were really compounded by:

C) SV period. Everything about it wound up serving to make SK2 look bad to about anyone but those truly devoted to the combat.

All of it.

So you haven't played much DoA but determined she's best anyway. Probably haven't played her in NGIII, that musuo game she's in, and I think she was in some Fatal Frame. Interesting.

i bought SK2 cause I love the character interactions between them, I also like challenging games, which was what I hated about Estival and Versus, so as long as it has that I think I'll manage, gotta wait till friday though.

I got it because I wanted to get all the games I could (don't have a Vita)

Let's see:

More accessible gameplay compared to SK2 to the japanese fans as it was generally easier compared to SK2 and more a gradual shift from Burst's gameplay.

SK2 had more through deeper combat but it's not what the japanese fans wanted.

(Though something which doesn't help is SK2 US not getting the absolute latest patch which would have likely addressed an issue Aerial raves had in SK2)

More playable characters in general (and at the time people assumed the new ones were deliberately omitted at the time making the backlash worse)

More fanservice (clothing damage doesn't stop at the undies)

In short compared to SV, SK2 seemed like a big step back.

SK2 is generally polished enough to avoid framerate complains unlike Burst.

I have the faint hope another game is made in its line as it's the only hope the series has; otherwise it'll decay with cash grab versus sequels with more and more Yumi.
