If you are a ruk caster, you 2shot orbs of fire with 27 throwing, around 60% damage, more with a good roll. Everything else that isn't a boss gets straight up one shot unless you get a shit roll.

If you can't cast ruk, get min delay with javelins and call it a day.

Should use identify scrolls to identify weapons. Sucks to wield a distortion weapon or one of the new artifact mods like contam.

Doesn't dragon form do that? It'd just increase your HP and tank your EV. And let you throw ruks I guess.

Not that user, but look - because of dual spell schools, when you train Hexes you get cross training on Spectral Weapon and Fulminant Prism, when you train Charms, you get cross training on Death's Door, when you train Conjurations, you cross train the majority of elemental offensive spells and so on, and so on.

What would be the use for it? Only escaping nets and constriction? But you usually don't even know which enemies carry nets until it's too late. Also knowing devs, they'd call it tedious (thus unwanted) to have a spell that you cast every time you see a gnoll, a merfolk, a naga/anaconda or that Zot/Abyss hentai monster.

Also increasing size decreases your Stealth and EV, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to use it ever. Now 1 tier smaller on the other hand... but then again - tedious etc., won't get implemented for the same reasons buffs like Condensation Shield were removed.

Its really amusing that I'm a rune deep and hydras still give me trouble.

That's not so much cross training as it is a 1/2 or 1/3 XP penalty for multi-school spells.
Sure, training X helps with all partially-X spells, but those spells require 2-3 times more XP to begin with.

Subtle Casting is recommended in the pasta, can't speak from experience about it.

I mostly play Roguelikes because the abilities are fun since the style is so minimalistic and allows that kind of creativity. This is ToMEs main, and practically only selling point. I just don't understand why you need to intentionally fuck up your control scheme. Hell, even Elona lets you hotkey spells.

If you want it to automatically target the nearest dude, instead macro za\r

Just because you are too dumb to read the controls, doesn't mean they don't exist. Enjoy your 1 button casting.
