The only reason you're at Loc Muinne is to get Triss, so that's rather straight-forward.

I'd rather the next Witcher games have a new protagonist. Bringing Geralt back at this point would be like the fourth Indiana Jones movie.

There isn't much of a future for Witchers since there are few monsters left and even fewer Witchers. Any contemporary of Geralt would have to be set in some far off land where he doesn't do anything important, otherwise we'll wonder why we've never heard of the things he did. I'd like to see a Witcher game set long before Geralt's time, when the Witcher schools were still active and monsters were far more of a danger to civilization. Or maybe go back to one of the first Witchers ever made. The mages are still experimenting with the process, the mutations are maybe imperfect (not that the process was ever really perfected), every Witcher is very unique and may develop in unexpected (to their creators) ways. The extra mutations and experiments might make up for their knowledge of alchemy not being as advanced.
