Really would've made more sense if it was in June. Maybe they need the extra month to work on the game?
More like they need the extra month to work on the trailer. I imagine that putting together a game trailer can't be easy what with the leagues of annalists these days.
You've gotta get game footage, use some debug camera controls in order to get cinematic camera angles that won't be used in the game, put it together with the music, render the 3D swooshy text and maybe even make some custom CG animations of the characters.
Oh yeah and you have to make sure that the clips you're showing off don't accidentally give away too much, what with GameXplain and those guys.

No, I mean Flight. Tails' thing is FLYING. Sure, he has an IQ of 400, higher than Eggman, but his signature ability is Flight. That's what Sonic Heroes is built around: Sonic's Speed, Tails' Flight, and Knuckles' Power, put together as a Team.

Ability wise maybe but as a team mechanic he's the brains of the group. That's how it's pretty much been since Adventure.
Sonic was always too hasty and headstrong.
Knuckles lost his shit way too easily.
Tails was the one to slow down and be the voice of reason.
Team mechanics wise he's the brains. Sonic Heroes had that advertised as his main thing because it was literally part of the gameplay.
I wish I never found out about the Dreamcast chao gardens so the downgrade wouldn't bother me in the GC version.

Tails' ability is Flying, he is meant to be able to Fly nearly as fast as Sonic can run. That's his thing, it's always been his thing. I don't get why people forget that.
It had better stat tracking and possibly other features outside the chao garden. I'm mostly just talking about this.

It wasn't a passing statement. It was one of Tails' attacks labelled "IQ400 Attack", which strongly implies that Tails' IQ is 400.
Sonic Battle isn't canon? For example, Emerl also appeared in Sonic X.
