Emitters do not work if there is no power in the grid, APCS do not put power into the grid, they take power from the grid and use it to power lights atmos and machines but not emitters

At round start engineering has power thanks to this specific SMES, once that SMES runs out, emitters will not work, at which point you must wrench down the pacman to a wire knot in order to get the SMES to fire

Alternatively, you can wire a solar, and wire engineering to the grid (fastest way is to lay wires through the maintenance door next to the burn chamber), and the solars can power the emitters

important note, because the engineering APC is only powered by engines, if you only wire the solars, engineering will eventually run out of power if you do not wire it to the grid

Do not teach shitters how to be engineers.

The info is readily available in books and wiki. Let them get jobbanned for singuloose instead.
