Mergo is the cause of the sudden transformation of absolutely everyone in town, but killing him doesn't cure the infected or undo the damage. The Scourge is over, but Yarnham is finally fucked for good. This is, depending on your perspective, a happy ending, since Yarnham was into some shit that would and did, in the DLC make Innsmouth shudder in disgust.

But the thing is, the blood is what causes the scourge. And as long as that blood exists and can be passed around, the scourge could keep going.

Without blood ministration it'll definitely slow down, but maybe getting infected with beast blood could be enough to transform you as well.

The transformation doesn't happen until the night of the hunt begins.

More stamina is pretty good for the whirligig and beast claw. Youre alright.

Yes, the onehanded forms scale with str and skill (both are shit and you should never use them) while the transformed mode scales exclusively with blt.

One handed form scales with str, two handed form scales with arc. The L2 buff increases the arc scaling even further.

You can go without Bowblade, or remove some vit.

mensis gems aren't a very big deal but they provide a significant boost over anything in the story until that point

He's doable at level 4 if you know what you're doing, it's just a matter of how well you know the fight

I handled him pretty easily first playthrough. Died once because I didn't realize he was blasting a giant pizza slice at me in his second form but I didn't really see what all the fuss was about him being hard.

Though I wouldn't say I memorized his moves or anything, so doing him low level may fuck me up.

Yeah that's fair enough, he's one of the toughest bosses in the game for me. Only one that really gives me more trouble is Orphan of Kos
