Taking bets on how long it'll take for a question to trigger Penders.

Nothing will prepare me for this.

Hey look, Bored the Mom's kid showed up.

G I V E M E T H E P E N D E R S

...

>there are actually kids at the convention
cute

i'm scared

Long time no see

Will anyone ask him how a fucking hypocrite he is for doing that panel?

...

Hopefully people keep it classy and his panel will pass without incident.

>Kids at a Sonic convention
You expected something else?

Which Adventure game had the worse worst Sonic level: 1 (Sky Deck) or 2 (Pyramid Cave)?

Diggin' this "Work It Out" remix.

Hell yeah.

Aw, that's just depressing.

Penders' Panel is gonna make this whole thing fall apart just watch.

WORK IT OUT

that's funny

Pyramid cave by far.

Here we go boys, buckle up for a wild ride.

Nothing will happen, people will just ask him about working on the comic

Here we go.

My friends all know I'm a Sonic fan and assume it's only popular with adults who played the classics as kids. They're surprised when I tell them kids are still fans of the series.

Did they discover /sthg/?

IT'S TIME!

Neither of those levels were bad.

Worst Sonic level in the Adventure games was Crazy Gadget. If you include Shadow then Final Chase.

He does not sound like how I thought he would.

Oh crap, he actually sounds normal. I was hoping he'd have a voice to match the madness inside.

Give me a break. Almost everyone is an adult there, and to be honest when I think of Sonic communities I don't really think of kids. But yeah, some are to be expected, and it's kind of refreshing to see.

But now let's watch Penders.

Same.

who is this impostor

I CAN'T FUCKING DO IT, LADS.

THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR ONE MERE MORTAL TO HANDLE

SWEET IVO'S DICK IT'S HAPPENING

The audio is so desynchronised it's really making this hard to watch

Is he going to lecture or is he gonna take questions.

So far it's not cringe but will everything fall apart during the Q&A. Will there even be one?

History of Sonic panel, user. Dunno if there's a Q&A. If they are smart, they won't do it.

JUST SAY SOMETHING FUNNY, FAT BOY.

I have a feeling there won't be a Q&A. He just got up there and started going through the history of the comic practically day by day. He's probably going to keep talking until he runs out of time.

>Will there even be one?
I somehow doubt it, but even if they did I can imagine some question screening went on.

Pyramid Cave was much worse than Crazy Gadget.

>pinpoint-accurate gammabots
>grabbing ghosts everywhere
>hourglasses
>that one segment where you have to escort a key through all of the above for about 45 seconds
>that really long tunnel with the hourglass at the beginning
>shitty camera angles everywhere
>visuals suck compared to every other sonic level to boot

This. You might as well only listen to the audio.

I bet he'll ignore Bollers

So the direction of the book at the beginning was specifically designed to be the SATam backstory and characters cominded with the tone of AOSTH. That's interesting. I wonder how it mutated into the monster it became.

Hey, Sonic Revolution user, can you take a picture of how many people are seated listening to the panel?

>I wonder how it mutated into the monster it became.

You're listening to it.

Penders' panel is actually.... pretty boring so far. Kind of disappointing.

SA1's worst sonic level was Lost World.

>So the direction of the book at the beginning was specifically designed to be the SATam backstory and characters cominded with the tone of AOSTH. That's interesting
That's pretty obvious if you read those issues because that's exactly what they were.

>I wonder how it mutated into the monster it became.
Combination of shitty writing (Penders) and shitty editorial (Gabrie).

>rejected Sonic meeting a Mario parody
>let everything else sail by

Curse you 90s SEGA Licensing Department!

>Ken Penders panel
>lot of people talking in the background
>not a single shot of the audience

>rejected Sonic meeting a Mario parody
I guess that means STC had less Sega oversight.

sky deck, its just clumsy

pyramid cave just had the the slightly annoying switch things. Crazy gadget is more awkward.

>Ken Penders looks like Walt Disney if he were stung by 1000 bees and also not Walt Disney.

>buffering

Oh boy, he's talking about Endgame.

Looking back, it was a disturbingly accurate presage of Sonic Heroes's level design..

A considerable amount, actually. Sorry in advance if the pic is fucked.

Ah yes, the best possible choice for a Sonic movie and totally not an incoherent Fugitive ripoff.

Take your pictures upside down dude.

The only good thing to come out of Endgame is literally just this Spaz cover.

What the actual fuck are you doing with your phone

I didn't know it was in Australia

You know, if I were someone who didn't really know about the comics and went to this panel to learn about them, Penders would seem like a reasonable person with a lot of useful extensive knowledge on the comics.

But now he's getting to the Knuckles comics...

Here's a rotated picture. I can't believe someone is actually there.

>if I were someone who didn't really know about the comics
Which, in fairness, is the majority of the fanbase.

Oh shit, you're next to boredmom? Move over to their table!

>The Knuckles comics
>I'm the reason the comics sold
And it begins

>I can't believe someone is actually there.
I meant, not at the panel paying attention (which is also amazing), but at the convention and here.

it's just iphones use a fucked up method of orientation, it looks fine when viewed on the phone but when I upload it it's fucked

>iphone
I know, but it's better than what I had before.

So Ken Penders admits that he wrote for Knuckles because Knuckles had no character at the time (which is not true, but whatever). So he basically used Knuckles to write his own fanfiction.

We knew it was coming. I'm waiting for the part where he plugs his Lara-su bullshit.

>THEY NEEDED MY NAME ON THE BOOK IN ORDER FOR IT TO SELL

He has on at least one occasion literally said that he used Knuckles as a stand-in for his own character and series.

wtf is happening in the crowd?

Oh boy, questions.

Q&A begins!

OH BOY HERE WE GO

people doing better things than listening to penders

>get invited to do DVD covers
>get invited to work on movie projects

This is going to be a good thread I'm not a regular here but I'm glad I lurk

Oh, so the Japanese copy of Sonic Adventure that they used for the comic belonged to Spaz? That's pretty cool.

>I'm so glad I didn't have to adapt the games

I have to say, it does sound like SEGA didn't give too many damns about the comic to not give them a copy of the game....

...did he really...

>inb4 microwaves and babies

stop clogging the stream its always buffering ffs

SEGA really didn't care about the comic, but that doesn't excuse a lot of what they did in the Adventure adaption.

Sounds like by SA2 SEGA got into the habit they had once Ian was on of using the comic to tease the games instead of trying to adapt them.

Is he killing time so he doesn't have to answer more questions?

>>get invited to do DVD covers

More like he came to them and tried to make himself look like hot shit.

Seems like SEGA doesn't care if writers know about Sonic or not considering Pontac and Graff having to look up cutscenes on youtube.

A lot less. If I recall the writers even got to walk away with ownership rights to all their characters.

>cheering for Underground

>Ken rejected a Sonic Underground arc
One of the only good decisions he's made.

Hey man that intro song was pretty dope.

He hasn't answered a second question yet.
