It's mostly the background stages fucking SFV over. They look awful. Shit you wouldn't even see in indie fighting games. The models would've looked so much better on a background that isn't eye cancer. I'm more and more convinced that training stage is the best stage of SFV due to how little models clash with background.

That's a pre release screenshot, the final game looked much better than that so I don't know why you posted it.

Also, again, I was talking purely from a technical point of view. Style is a matter of taste and I don't think SF4's style was bad at all, but that was not the point now. Again, find anything in SF4 that looks like the new zealand stage. SF4 actually looked great for its time. SFV has some great models, but the stages are embarassing. KOF XIV has better stages than SFV.
