XCOM 2 officially coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6th.

If I'm allowed to play the overwatch campaign I'll do it.

Its a high quality OP made by a wonderful guy who thinks being a newfag is a good thing.

>62 turns

...

...

What kind of humor is this?

...

ADVENT humor

They're edited Kelly Cartoons from the onion which is a parody of political comics in the style of ben garrison.

Is that the DA OC from the other night?

triggered

stop posting this godawful art

It's from the other thread alright, but DA ? dunno man, just saved it and used it

...

Don't worry, I saved it all for your viewing pleasure

...

>LOL THAT'S WHAT CITIZENS ACTUALLY BELIEVE

Not my jam.

>pleasure
This art makes my eyes bleed
It looks kinda good, but the composition man...

Heres some more for you

There were no lies user.

The best bit is the brilliant take on an Advent stun lancer, why do they need to be mutants? They don't because ART.

...

She's also in a lesbian relationship with a snek. I have an awful feeling the artist was actually here a thread or two ago.

>newfag
Yes that's why I'm informing you

Its from leddit, just some guys sketch.

>Its from leddit, just some guys sketch.
Thats good, thankfully this is the last of the stun lancer OCs

>Check Steam
>Enemy Within is £20
Damn jews, where's a good place to pick it up for cheaper?
>inb4 pirate - need a legit version to play Long War

Steam Summer sale is in a week or two
also
>not already owning EW

>need a legit version to play Long War

Like this guys said just wait for the sale. It'll be like 5-10$ then.

Maybe he wants to support the devs before encountering magnificent design!

You know I wouldn't even mind all this porn if the stunlancer was actually a standard ADVENT clone trooper uggo underneath the helmet

Buying EW 4 years later at half the price it was brand new is not directly supporting the developers, it's supporting whatever service you purchased it from.

>tfw perfect crashed large
>even the sectopod doesn't get a shot off
bretty gud :DDD

Forgot to mention it especially isn't supporting them when buying it on sale for a pittance of that half price.

You can say that pirating is bad, sure. My original point is that you don't need an official copy.

>implying it wouldn't be better if was a standard ADVENT clone

Steam get a percentage cut not a flat flee per game sold. You're supporting the service just as much buying new.

Firaxis is still an active studio m80

gamewatcher.com/interviews/phoenix-point-interview/12585

Game looks to be released in 2018. Lot's of juicy details here, I hope Julian can deliver.

Is there any reason to use a HE grenade instead of an Ayy grenade?

Alien grenades are sentient beings with the sole purpose of planting eggs in your female troops.

In Long War I'm pretty sure once you get alien grenades, the explosive radius of starndard nades are increased.

So you could decide to trade off some of the damage for potentially more aoe dmg and cover destruction. But I think alien grenades still have more environmental damage.

Neat, I'll be sure to give all of my female soldiers Ayy grenades!

Thanks.

>cargo
Apt name for the victim of an ovipositor.

>urban crash site
Fuck me

I'm surprised Long War doesn't do shit like Plasma Weapons give your troopers cancer after a couple of missions using the things that slowly kills them (with an obvious decrease in stats all the while) and can only be countered via genemodding

I'm sure she'll love it

Shush, you'll give JL ideas.

...

>Friends in low places

What events could push a man to create such a mission

I still think the art style is horrendous

Friends in low places is easy though, just hold back and send one or two guys up the sides to flank and clear a path for him.

LW Newfoundland is far, far worse.

>LW Newfoundland
I never meant to hurt anybody

They have two years to clean things up, so we'll see where it goes.

This for example pretty much just features the XCOM UI for the most part, but that may just be a placeholder.

Fun fact, these images are various attempts at turn 2

>Just hold back
>get ACIDED
>try to advance a bit
>10 thin men rape gang

LW Newfoundland did fuck my shit up as well though

Held medkits neutralise acid before it takes effect without using a charge.

Don't advance, stay in high cover around the start maybe using a Shiv or Rookie as bait. Have 2 guys flank the left side.
Worked for me with no casualties.

Yeah that's what I'm doing
>send low profile scout + close combat scout to the left
>have sniper medic and 2 infantry stay in the back
>by turn 2 I'm already swarmed by 6+ thin men

XCOM 2 pseudo LW storytime user modlist where

In the OP

XXth for Pistols are Useful.

If you're doing it right those 6 thin men shouldn't be an issue. The Acid will do nothing and the full cover will mean their shots miss.

Is it worth launching a second base assault in the late game? I could do with a massive resource injection and India.

>xcom uses the same stairs as the aliens

what does this mean

Base assault are actually considered the meta strategy for getting the resources you need for the ridiculous cost of late game stuff in Long War.

I've seen multiple people even talk about letting terror attacks go if they were crushing the ayys to hard.

No XCOM, you ARE the aliens

Problem is I'm not killing them nearly fast enough since they're all hiding behind these fucking high cover tombstones, and eventually one of them gets a lucky shot in and one shots one of my troopers

Keep in mind I have pretty much no technological advances yet

Huh, I wasn't sure if all the big ayys would make it a pain,

>2 of those crashes are EMPed battleships

Why does a terror ship have more ayys than a battleship

That's not qt!

>his ranger doesn't have a 3 kill:mission ratio

because the battleship has crew and the terror ship has crew + ground troops.

>Only 3

>lids panic very easily from flamethrowers
Would've expected them to be immune

I guess, seems a bit odd a terror ship is harder to assault though

fuck me. Not pictured is the ethereal in the top right.

Here they are, life is fun

And the game crashed when I moved my infantry. good mod jl

What good Read: hard alien shooters do you play?

Going from LW to XCOM2 is kind of a bummer. Going back to small squad sizes and smaller engagements just feels wrong.

I've also read that the campaign is super short compared to LW?

Is there/are there mods to drag out the XCOM2 campaign, or should I just go straight to legendary?

The campaign is about 60 hours.

Also I don't know if you know but LW is a mod.

Legendary bumps up the length. Honestly though, if your expecting LW your just going to be disappointed. This is a sequel to XCOM EU/EW, NOT long war.

Play through at least a vanilla campaign, and then start modding away if you are still looking for LW2.

Yeah, I was just curious if there was a mod that transplanted all the neat things we got in LW to XCOM2 because it feels like step back gameplay wise.

But you didn't even played the campaign. Why do you want to mod something you don't even know.

Play it and hope by the time you finished it the LW devs pumped out something we can use.

>We're basically a 20-hour tutorial for The Long War
-Jake Solomon

Check the OP modlist, its organized and a good place to start. Then your just going to have to start evaluating what changes need to be made and getting mods for it or doing it yourself.

There is currently no "LW" overhaul so to speak, all that stuff is in progress, all the building blocks are being established, it will be a while before some definitive overhaul mod is recognized. If that happens, though it still seems likely, we just might have more then 1 this time around.

But you really should start with a vanilla campaign, otherwise you won't actually understand how the gameplays, hindering your ability to modify it the way you want to.

I doubt its going to be the LW devs this time around.

Yes...?

pfft, illegal aliens maybe

>I doubt its going to be the LW devs this time around.
Thank fuck, JL and his team (now LWS) were crazy

I guess it's hard to explain, but the way I'd put it is you only get to experience playing a game for the first time only once, and I'd love to have all the options available to me when I experience these things for the first time.

I mean, I remember the first time I ran into chryssalids in UFO Defense and I shit my pants when everybody started dying because it was this whole new enemy that I was wholly unprepared for and erreybody died. Subsequent playthroughs you're just used to them.

Kind of like Newfoundland in XCOM, after you've experienced it once, you can't not be ready for it on the next playthrough.

Then either wait a while because overhaul mods take a long time to wait or experience Xcom 2 for the first time
