D.Va only needs for her gigantic critical hitbox to be removed or made much smaller for her to be viable. She's very comparable to Winston with various advantages and disadvantages over her. The exception is that she loses close range 1v1s with characters that she really shouldnt, like soldier76 because of every hit is a critical. Once she starts winning these engagements, she'll be on par with the useful tanks.

Useful tips have already been shared or are shared in the form of .webms. People are already playing the game.

she has way better than DPS than him if you land your shots. Winston is like 60 or 50 DPS, Dva can be over 200 with headshots.

Their shields are also quite different, you can put up your shield and dash at enemies to totally block their attacks, rather than a small area on the ground. This is really helpful for dealing with an enemy Widow, Pharah, etc. who might be able to shot around other shields.

Secondly, her ult has a lot of unexplored potential and utility on certain parts of maps. If you tried really hard you could definitely kind some good DVa ult lobs that have it fly into the enemy and explode rather unexpected. Further still, some points are totally bare, so DVas ult is better at zoning than Winston's even. Winston ult is quite bad at dealing with Bastion and Torb's turret which DVa's trumps effortlessly, if those characters became important in the metagame she would become much more useful.

DVa and winston have so much in common, with a lot of pros and cons that make them pretty equally balanced IF her stupid critical hitbox goes away. She should be able to deal with Tracer, Soldier, Genji, Zenyatta and a lot of other characters just as well as Winston, but these characters actually are a pretty bad threat because of how much damage they can do to her so easily.

If you can cancel the teleport or be invulnerable while teleporting, it's going to make him too good because the range on the ledge aiming teleport is pretty far and if they can't do shit about you dropping in next to their face, just the act of teleporting in is a free Death Blossom.

Pharah players are even bigger monkeys than Winston players

D.Va's biggest issue is that she can't get in and deal damage and get out reliably unless she kills one of the people she's attacking, which she won't because she's the easiest character in the game to get away from. Winston is a bigger threat to people that D.Va.
