Verdict on Trump

Ok Veeky Forums, is he a scam artist, or a great businessman?

What are your opinions on his business tactics and dealings?
Nothing about his politics in this thread, only his business sense.

read the art of the deal. the man's a genius

Not written by him

Also the book is shit

He's just a spoiled brat.
Pic related, trump as a child.

Why do you think the two are mutually exclusive, imo he is both.

He barely beat the market average, however he is good at manipulating people like

Waiting for you to turn a million to ten billion. Plus all the return calculations on his net worth don't ever account for the fact that he's a human so he spends his money on personal things. SHOCKING.

give me a million and i will turn it to 1 trillion.

and become the republican presidential candidate as well?

i dont think so, youre a faggot

Fuck you couldn't pick a better video than that overemotive crap? I just want to hear what the man has to say, not have it turned into fucking Chariots of Fire.

But to answer your question, no I don't think he's a scam artist, nor do I think he's a great businessman.

He's a great salesman which everyone knows but I suspect very good at delegation.
The second is a skill which is often misunderstood, picking the right people to be in your team, and then assigning tasks and projects to that team is a fine art.

Entrust the wrong person and they can bring down your empire.

I think his second wind as a media personality has a lot to do with him building the right team around him. I mean look at the Art of the Deal, he picked the right ghost-writer and it became a bestseller.

The traction his presidential campaign comes down to how he deals with people, delegation, schmoozing. That's not exactly what I associate with a great CEO, although an important part.

he had a chance to become president and blew it hard

Going up against someone as intensely disliked by so many people as Hillary Clinton and ending up being vastly more hated to the point where you become unelectable is not particularly impressive.

Tony Schwartz was technically art of the deal's co-author not its ghostwriter because his name is on the cover. An actual ghostwriter wouldn't take any credit for writing the book at all.

Everyone point and laugh at this CTR shilll

His opponent is the most corrupt politician of the last 40 years

He's the best choice by default

go reread OP's post then fuck off back to /pol/

How about you and op fuck off back to plebbit instrad

You're just looking for something to disagree with aren't you? I complimented Trump.
And ya know, your attitude exactly the kind of stuff in Trumps motivational speeches he says not to do:
>Don't say your injury prone because you believe it.

It's like when they say when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail, except the only thing you're looking for is misery.

Fuck you must be dumb... and bitter.
You poor poor thing.

Good at bringing attention to himself. Good manipulator

...

Is trump the quintessential corporate sociopath? Do you really want that?

He's a salesman, which necessitates using manipulation and creating illusion.

But that doesn't make a scam artist, especially if he builds what's in the contract. Car salesman and Real Estate agents work to get your mind ready to accept the deal in front of you.

I enjoyed the book, Tony Schwartz did a good job because the entire books sounds like Trump is talking to you.

>corporate sociopath
It's basically a family business selling condos and renting out hotel rooms. How is this even bad?

Great businessman.

Way better than any other candidate bar Rand Paul.

You can't just dump all of your money into the stock market when your net worth is a significant percentage of the market. It would be as if you tried to buy or sell a penny stock far outside its liquidity, you're gonna end up bullying the price.

btw I'm up 11% YTD from options trading.

>not a scam artist
>Tony Schwartz did a good job

Tony Schwarz quotes on Trump
"I put lipstick on a pig"

“I genuinely believe that if Trump wins... possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”

If he were writing “The Art of the Deal” today, Schwartz said, it would be a very different book with a very different title. Asked what he would call it, he answered, “The Sociopath.”

"Trump’s short attention span has left him with “a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.”

“Lying is second nature to him,”

the lies that Trump told him were about money—“how much he had paid for something, or what a building he owned was worth, or how much one of his casinos was earning when it was actually on its way to bankruptcy.”

>ghostwriter
>his name is literally on the book
It's clear who the liar here is.

I've been real tired of Ron Paul's shit, since all he does now is do commercials for overpriced gold and silver sellers.

As much as I love libertarian ideals, the loss of consumer protections and the impoverishment that globalism has caused in the US means I've got to disagree with them. Prove that you can use government effectively to protect US citizens and Laissez-faire it up.

Lower production costs and higher GDP aren't everything.

>non sequitur
Look at that blimp up there!

m8 that's your mom.

Oh yeah its just a small mom and pop international corporation which exploits illegal immigrant labour, has ties to organised crime and is run by a narcisscistic sociopath demagogue, I can see why so many retards love him

And you're surprised that a ghostwriter is making statements to deflect criticism from his (liberal or establishment-minded) social groups why?

Tony is saying, "Don't blame me, I voted Kodos." He just wants people to get off his back and the reporters just want more dirt on Trump. If Schwartz gets lucky maybe the publicity will get him another writhing gig.

kaching m9,
>10 points for the attempt!

>muh conspiracy theory
>he be saying things but he no mean 'em cuz reasons

>international corporation
it's not.
>illegal immigrant labor
he didn't
>has ties to organized crime
go buy something from a convenience store in nyc. you now have financial ties to organized crime
>narcisscistic sociopath demagogue
nice buzzwords. just proof you can't think for yourself.

Tony may very well mean what he says, but you're a fool to ignore all the incentive he's been given. Its not that hard to trash Trump when you receive death threats and harassment for a book you wrote 29 years ago.

Everybody's got an angle, even the fools.

>I'm a fool to try to strawman myself out of this pickle

>Its not that hard to trash Trump
No shit. His personality/looks/his perty little mouth/peculiarity all congregate to put this windbag in a lot of trouble.

>its not

The Trump Organization (formerly Elizabeth Trump & Son) is an American privately owned international conglomerate based in Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan, New York City

>he didn't

Nobody ever heard of illegal immigrants working shitty construction hotel maid jobs amirite? And nobody ever took advantage of it amirite?

>go buy something from a convenience store in nyc.

Because buying a hotdog is the same as making deals with mafia families amirite?

>nice buzzwords. just proof you can't think for yourself.

Narcissist: Narcissism is the pursuit of gratification from vanity or egotistic admiration of one's own attributes.

Sociopath: sociopathy (/soʊsiˈɒpəθi/), is traditionally defined as a personality disorder[1] characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, egotistical traits.

Demagogue: A demagogue /ˈdɛməɡɒɡ/ (from Greek δημαγωγός, a popular leader, a leader of the mob, from δῆμος, people, populace, the commons + ἀγωγός leading, leader)[1] or rabble-rouser is a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation.

You = complete fuckwit

Complete lies. Just promise me you'll kill yourself when Trump wins.

go buy some penny stocks because the pumper is honest about the potential of that super exciting world-changing technology.

I liked the Trump book because it reads very well. The author might be expressing convenient regret about the book, but that doesn't change the letters on the pages.

In good news the election is only ~100 days from now, so you won't live in limbo much longer.

I promise I will kill myself if Trump wins...jokes on you though, he wont win

I agree with your analysis of his skillet, at least.

Trump is talented at (1) finding and hiring good people, (2) marketing his interests, and (3) not having a single self-conscious bone in his body. This is the kind of skill set that presidents need. Presidents don't sit around looking deeply at numbers and getting elbow-deep in drafting policy - they tend to set things in motion for targeted results, like the idea of a Confucian emperor. This is one reason why one could argue that Obama has been so ineffectual - as a literal ivory tower Democratic token black politician, he's never had to actually work on moving the ball down the field like Trump has, so he slammed face-first into a brick wall when he tried to manhandle PPACA into law and things like that. President Trump is going to bluster around and make a lot of the liberal media white-hot with anger because he's going to be a continuing source of dumb shit, but he's going to get shit done.

With that said, Trump is unfairly maligned for what he's done with his businesses. Idiots continue to criticize him for using bankruptcy to discipline/kill a small handful of failing franchises, and yet that's a VERY common strategy across all of business that anyone with two seconds of experience would recognize in a heartbeat. For 30+ years, Trump has had to deal with NYC politics, housing, and established interests, meaning there's no way he could have even built a bodega without getting his hands dirty. Moreover, his taste in style (brass and gold and marble all day erry day) and women (Eastern Bloc all day) may be kinda ridiculous, but making fun of it is just childish - the man likes what he likes.

If Trump wins, I'm literally going to spend an entire day just watching the news and jerking off to the huge hissy fit that will be thrown by people who voted for a candidate solely because she had a vagina.

>I liked the Trump book because it reads very well.
No shit. Let me make a note of that.

>that doesn't change the letters on the page
And the current letters from the same writer state that he is a complete tosser. Don't go cherrypicking now.

>you won't live in limbo
I am not. You are living under the delusion that this moron is gonna win, when everything he does puts him further away from the trophy.

Pro-tip. cunts like picrelated do not matter.

Can I take you up on that bet too?
OFC you will kill yourself in the opposite case.
Is that something you'd dare to agree to?

You should have known better.

>If Trump wins
So what will you do when he loses?

>like the idea of a Confucian emperor.

But in practice he would be more like a Roman emperor, a raging self-aggrandising faggot without a fucking clue beyond Bread & Circus for the plebs.
Actually the more I think about it, the more he seems perfect for America.

>well put
this

>So what will you do when he loses?
>when
lol

But if he loses? I'm not going to throw a hissy fit and leave the country like most liberals threaten. I'll probably just invest heavily in companies I'm sure are going to get kickbacks from her policies, e.g. Goldman.

You should work at McDonalds so you can put some of that salt on my fries

I'm not going to attempt to convince you that Trump will win or lose, but stop underestimating people. Everyone makes mistakes, has faults and blind spots, but most people don't become world figures by accident.

>If you don't know who is the sucker at the poker table, it is you.
Corollary: Even the sucker thinks the sucker is someone else.

> If he loses
Do you expect Jesus to come down and approve of stupid asshole so the rest of you fat cunts will crawl out to vote?

So yeah, you've already lost. Get over it.

>McDonalds as response to a riff on types of emperors
Clutching at straws, are we. Oh yes, you are used to that.

>most people don't become world figures by accident.
Being on tv and fairly wealthy does not = world figure. You actually have to do something with an impact. Larry Page is 1000x the world figure of Drumpf. Drumpf is a purveyor of golf-courses FFS.

Be sure to use your confidence of the future for financial benefit. This is Veeky Forums after all. I know UK anons have access to a betting market.
