If this is your first time, you are already behind this season. You can still play, but you probably won't make Rank 1 unless you play at least 10 ranked games a day and win all of them.
At the very least, it'll get you ready for next season since you can start out at rank 15 next time.

Ranked is T5-6, then T6-7, then T8, and finally T10 depending on your rank.

I wouldn't recommend ranked for a new player. And while the IJN BB line is great, the USN BB/DD lines are better for ranked.

And even if you have the ships, ranked itself its not much fun. People are really stressed out, and will blow up at the slight sign of the match not going perfect. It's not a nice environment to play.

Divisioning with other anons is fun.

Cyclones are the dumbest crapever. Once they happen more frequently and have no "oh, new feature"-feel about them, people will hate them with passion. It's a crapidea and results in battles were basically nothing is happening for 2 to 10 minutes. I'm glad there's ranked, because this crapwill annoy the hell out of me in random.
