Riot and Blizzard both have political agendas, and to make matters worse, both games have balance issues and league has less positive and negative feedback mechanisms.

The end result is a game that is attractive to special snowflakes because they can pick whoever is top tier at the moment (and top tier in Riot and Blizzard games is usually 2 heroes, with the vast majority of heroes in the worst two tiers) and they never have to get good.

Girls who play dota on the other hand treat it like any other hobby, dota requires effort and doesn't have shortcuts, so it attracts higher grade women.

A buddy from TF2 bought me overwatch to try and find a game we could both enjoy.

It's not as bad as it should have been, but it's still hideously unbalanced.

Almost all the skills are dota skills, to the point that it's easier to explain balance problems to dota players than it is people who actually play overwatch.

The magnus clone is ungodly, his Reverse Polarity analog is objectively as good if not better than any of the other teamfight stuns in the game, which are jammed onto supports and tanks with worse hp and skills than him. The freezing field knockoff and blackhole knockoff skills do the exact same thing, but for some reason Magnus clone gets best group stun, highest burst damage on his Magnus charge ripoff skill, 3rd highest hp in game, 100% movement speed, and a fucking 2000 damage recharging shield.

They also really really need to justify picking the two supports that aren't the witch doctor clone and the Io clone, game has a version of slardar who amps damage on enemy and lowers damage on your team, but reincarnate, healing aura, empowering haste, and damage boost-overcharge ripoff skill are just too much better.

Game kinda feels like early DotA 1 in terms of balance issues. Too many heroes can do too much and need to split into multiple heroes. In RoC Dota Riki was Riki AND Witch Doctor, "Astral Trekker"(spirit breaker) was Ursa AND Spirit Breaker AND Tiny and CM frostbite, Nightstalker was Nightstalker and DP and his ult was basically 2x empowering haste aura.

Game is fun, but needs lots of work.
