Probably still locked behind postgame goodies, though I think jungle hunter stuff is unrestricted.

If it's not locked in the postgame, it's locked in the Crank-a-kai, behind Yo-kai cam rewards, or in the endgame. At least, that's how I remember it was in the first game.

Most of the S rank evolution items are only unlocked post-game.

It's not a significant amount of S ranks as a whole but still quite a bit.

Yo-kai Watch 2 has a training center. You can use the credits you get there to change your yo-kai stats a limited number of times.

It also has a place where you can choose yo-kai from all levels to fight against and get experience. Important place to grind and learn new strategies as they use different teams to fuck you.

Have you tried using a single tribe team?

Hardly seems worth it, my attack right now is 1958. If I switch to, say Brave where two of my strongest Yokai are, it goes to 1254

Which is weird, because you would think Paws of Fury Jibanyan would come with the PoF medal.

It's the same Yo-kai anyway, who cares.

The training center has several types of training methods. You got a VR machine that you can use to go against bosses you defeated before and several harder versions of those bosses.
You can also try and defeat yo-kai teams that apparently are made to emulate different type of strategies you can encounter on online battles, like inspiriting teams etc.

It is more challenging to win against teams that are carefully constructed. So yes, AI uses different strategies against you.
