plenty of jabs stuff cross ups that would result in a free crush counter punish for most of the cast, it also reduces the requirement for someone to anti air as well as reducing the value of a dp as an anti air in the first place

They're different problems. More to do with balance than anything.
Even if you do get anti-aired by a jab that shouldn't stop you. You get ~10 damage whereas if you landed it your opponent would suffer about 300+, which is why we keep seeing jump ins in high level play.
Just consider what's the most damage you suffer by getting anti aired. Negligible.
Whereas my grief with jab AA is that it's a get out of jail free card with characters that have numerous other dedicated AA button and options.
Ryu has like 6 different types of anti air on top of the jab. Now take a look at Bison or Vega. Even Guile is fucking terrible at anti-airing outside flash-kick.
Then again it's more annoying than anything. I'd rather receive buffs for other characters than remove the jab AA.
