There is no such thing as ASIC proof and ASIC resistance can only go so far. No one sells ASIC's at a reasonable price when they are really profitable. Difficulty goes up and hardware prices go down. Good luck trying to sell that, now dirt cheap, hardware if the unexpected happens and you know you wont see a profit.
